I sat there recalling the night I came stumbling through the gate looking for help.
I never imagined finding the love of my life and a family.
Bones and I were settling into being parents with help from everyone, including his mom.
I was enjoying getting to know Cassandra.
I loved the idea of her being close to us.
The kids deserved another grandmother. Tana would also fill that role, along with Alfred becoming their grandfather.
Speaking of Alfred, I could hardly believe what he’d told me and Bones earlier today.
He said that after the New Year, he wanted to sit down with us and talk about the shop.
He’d floored me when he said he wanted to give it to me.
I protested, but he wasn’t hearing any of it.
He said I was the only one who loved antiques as much as he did, and his worthless family didn’t deserve to inherit his babies.
We’d finally set aside the talk until later, but I felt Alfred wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Of course, the idea of owning the shop made me giddy.
I loved it and would adore expanding and making it even better.
I was thrilled that Leon had found a home with the club and that they had patched in Dimitri.
I thought his road name was ideal for him, and he seemed to like it.
As if all that and having the girls weren’t enough, I’d begun to work with Amanda from the hospital.
I spoke to her groups about what I went through and how my life had improved.
The young woman she asked me to talk to had left the man who abused her and was working to rebuild her life.
It made me feel good that I might be able to help someone.
And I’d gained another friend in Amanda.
She and the old ladies were also becoming close.
My life was so good that I sometimes feared I’d wake up and find it was all a dream. When I told Bones that, he’d make love to me and then ask me if I was awake or not. I smiled over at my man. He winked at me. I never imagined that being Bones’ Firefly would be this amazing.
