Page 59 of Attractive Forces
I know Logan’s awkwardness stems from the fact that our relationship has advanced a lot further than a typical tutor-pupil status. Annaliese obviously interprets it as he’s stumbling because he doesn’t like to admit that he needs tutoring in front of a cute girl.
“I had to get tutoring for history when I was in high school. I could never remember any of the dates,” she says.
“They say history is like a fruit cake in that way,” Logan says. “Full of dates.”
Annaliese giggles.
“And you think my chemistry jokes are terrible,” I say.
Logan flicks a grin at me.
“I thought it was funny,” Annaliese says.
Okay, it’s mildly amusing seeing Annaliese flirting with my secret boyfriend.
Boyfriend. My mind stumbles over the word. But I can’t deny that is what Logan is to me.
My boyfriend gives my sister one last smile before turning to me. “You ready to study?”
“Sure.”
He follows me up to my room and shuts the door behind us.
“Hey.” This is a special greeting just for me, as he leans forward and, lightning fast, brushes a kiss over my lips.
“We can’t do anything,” I say begrudgingly. Because it’s been eighteen hours since I got to touch Logan, and it seems like a cruel and unnecessary punishment that he’s right in front of me now and nothing fun can happen.
But I wouldn’t put it past Annaliese to invent a reason to interrupt us to ogle Logan again. Not that I’m one to judge. Ogling Logan is one of my favorite pastimes. I prefer to do it when he’s naked though.
“I’ll have to restrain myself.” Logan flashes me a wolf-like grin, and I find myself cursing the creation of sisters.
I sit in the chair and grab the textbook.
“So, not tempted by my sister’s flirting?” I ask as I flick to the right page. I already know the answer. I get the feeling if Logan had any smidgen of interest in girls, he would have embraced it with enthusiasm.
“That would be a strong negative.”
“Are you just leaving that open for a chemistry pun?” I ask.
Logan’s forehead scrunches. “What?”
“The word negative,” I explain.
He shakes his head. “Oh god, nothing is safe with you.”
I grin back. “You should always remember that.”
We’re drifting away from the topic I want to talk to Logan about. I feel a bit weird bringing it up, but I stumble on, twisting my pen in my hand. “So, when did you realize you weren’t interested in girls?”
A shadow passes over Logan’s face. “I was like twelve, maybe? I was at Brewer’s place, and we were watching stuff on the internet, you know, and the other guys were talking about the girls’ tits and stuff, and I realized the whole time I’d been watching the guy, thinking how hot he was.” A blush creeps up his face. “It’s weird to talk about.”
“Sorry.”
He clears his throat. “Nah, it’s okay. If I can’t talk to you about this, who can I talk to?”
“So, you’ve never told anyone?”
He shakes his head quickly. “No. Never.”
