Page 54 of Attractive Forces
I wiggle closer to him, but it turns out front seats are not designed to optimize the make-out experience because the stupid handbrake digs into me.
The best way to overcome that particular obstacle seems to be climbing over it, so I pretty much land in Logan’s lap. He breaks away from kissing me to slide his seat back as far as it can go, then his lips find mine again.
He tastes of mint and something spicy.
The steering wheel digs into my back, but that doesn’t matter when I’m kissing Logan, grinding up against him in a way that I can feel he’s just as into this as I am.
Eventually, he wrenches his mouth from me, panting.
Losing his lips on mine enables some blood to flow back into my brain, and I come to my senses. I scramble back to my own seat.
“Sorry…” I splutter.
Logan’s forehead creases. “What for?”
“Um…for pretty much mounting you.”
He coughs. “Yeah, you don’t need to apologize for that.”
“Then why did you pull away?”
“Because things were going to…uh…get…messy if we kept that up for too much longer.”
“Oh. Right.” I blush to the tips of my hair. A faint blush appears on Logan’s golden skin too.
He fixes his blue-green gaze on me. “Have you…ever done this before…with a guy, I mean?”
“Um…no. I’ve never been with any other guy. I didn’t…uh…realize I liked guys like this…until you.” My blush intensifies until I’m pretty sure you could use the surface of my skin to boil water.
Logan’s eyebrows shoot up. “Right. Okay.”
“What about you?” I ask.
He startles like he didn’t expect me to return the question. “No. I’ve never done this before. I’ve tried really hard to…resist.”
“But I’m that irresistible?” I mean the words as a joke, but Logan’s blue-green eyes regard me seriously.
“Yeah, you are,” he says simply.
My heart hammers away at a pace that I could hire it out to construction workers and make a killing.
“So, what happens now?” I ask.
Logan bites his lip. “I can’t come out.” His voice is husky, but there’s a layer of panic in it.
Before I realize what I’m doing, I’m leaning over to stroke his arm.
“I want this…with you,” he continues, his eyes not leaving my face. “But I can’t deal with all the crap that’s going to come my way if people find out. My dad, my team…” He trails off, but I can fill in the blanks myself.
I swallow hard. “Yeah, I get it. Totally.”
Logan ducks his head, breaking our eye contact. “So…ah…you’re okay if we keep this just between us?”
I never thought I’d agree to keep a secret. After all, weren’t secrets what destroyed my family? But my choice here is simple. If I want to have anything with Logan, it needs to be on the down-low. And I want to continue this more than I’ve wanted anything in my life, ever.
“Yeah, I’m okay with that.” But I’m aware there’s uncertainty in my voice. It’s almost like I’m saying the words as a way of trying to convince myself.
