Page 94 of A Luna’s Dynasty (Celestial #1)

L ita and Asher had a small wedding a couple of months after their encounter with Abaas.

Nothing big, just a small ceremony with their friends and family.

They wanted to keep it intimate. They also wanted to pull together a wedding before her stomach grew too large.

It was perfect and sweet. It was everything Lita wanted.

Asher dressed in a tuxedo, and she wore a flowing, white wedding gown.

It was very beautiful. Brody and Chasen were the cutest little ring bearers.

It was amazing, and it was a day that Lita would never forget.

Drew was doing well. He had come over for the wedding, and he got to see Nathon and Alice.

He was just glad to know that everyone was doing well.

He was also very excited about being an uncle.

He took to Chasen and Brody right away. Shockingly, so did Kennedy!

Kennedy had actually apologized to Lita.

She told her that she regretted how she had treated her and wanted to start over as friends.

She was prejudiced about her not being a pure werewolf before.

The whole pack had always looked at Lita like she was a thorn in their side, a venomous snake that was a danger to their pack, and Kennedy fell into the pack mentality.

She was wrong. The pack was wrong. She promised Lita that she and Drew would make things better in their pack.

Lita, being the person she was, accepted her apology and friendship.

They even spoke on the phone every so often.

It seemed that things had worked out, and they were becoming friends.

Teo had found his mate! She was an absolute gem.

She was sweet and shy. Ironically, she was part witch.

Drew was a strong leader, and he was paving the way for some big changes in the Red Grove Pack.

Their pack would accept any mate, and anyone who didn’t like it was welcome to leave.

He was still very bitter over how Lita was treated, and he was going to make sure no one else experienced being an outcast.

Time moved quickly after her wedding, too quickly.

Before she knew it, she was as big as a house.

Well, she felt like she was. She needed Asher by her side constantly.

That wasn’t an understatement, either. The moment his touch left her, she had to sit down, her body instantly exhausted.

Asher never complained, though. He actually seemed to enjoy the needy attention.

Her cravings were all over the place, too.

The guys all took turns getting her different foods, except for Asher, who couldn’t leave her side.

“How’s my princess doing?” Caspian asked as he came into the house with Merida. True to his word, they always joined them for dinner.

“I feel like a beached whale.” Lita pouted.

Asher rubbed her large, swollen stomach. “You’re beautiful.” He leaned down and kissed her temple. He hated it when she complained about her size. She was carrying his baby. She was even more beautiful to him.

“A whale can be beautiful too, but it’s still a whale.” Lita frowned as she looked at the huge baby bump.

“Can we get you anything?” Merida asked with a sweet smile. Merida was fitting right in. She was very kind and always offered to help. She didn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. She was a lot like Alice in that way.

“No thanks, Merida. I have a nice little spread in front of me.” Lita looked at all the different snacks. She didn’t just eat at mealtimes. She ate around the clock. Being a werewolf and feeding a werewolf baby meant that mom was always hungry!

“Grayson, Caden, Rosa, and Kristen have the kids at the field. It looked like they were in the middle of an intense game of tag.” Caspian grinned.

“That sounds about right.” Asher laughed happily. Brody and Chasen had become a big part of everyone’s lives. They all felt connected to them. Caden and Grayson even fought over them and who got to play with them that day. Lita squeezed Asher’s hand tightly.

“Baby, are you okay?” Asher rubbed her arm gently.

“Mmmhmm, just some small contractions,” Lita said calmly.

“Okay, baby, if that’s all … wait, WHAT?” Asher jolted upright, bumping Lita around as well.

Lita giggled. “Calm down. These things take time, but I think our little girl is ready to come out.”

Asher was in full-blown panic mode. He started barking out mindlinks to everyone who was assigned a certain task.

Asher had planned out tasks for everyone in his group for when the big day arrived, which was now.

He hopped up and started running around, leaving Lita on the couch to stare at the panicked wolf.

“I’ll go get our midwife!” Caspian ran out in a panic.

“I guess he forgot he could just mindlink her?” Lita giggled along with Merida.

“You sure you want a home birth?” Merida asked her. “This is the moment of truth.”

“I’m sure. I haven’t done the whole formal baby thing with the healers.

I’m trying to keep everything as natural as possible.

Plus, it will be nice to just be home. Who can sleep in hospitals anyways?

I want to be able to have visitors freely.

” Lita frowned as another contraction came on, this time a bit stronger.

“Asher, will you get over here and comfort her?” Merida spoke out in the most aggressive tone they had ever heard come out of her mouth.

Asher smirked. “Looks like being around werewolves has turned you savage.” He saw her blush in embarrassment as he managed to put his head back on. He was back at Lita’s side. “What do you need from me, baby?”

“I think I need to get upstairs before these contractions get worse,” Lita said, after she finished breathing through her contraction. Asher lifted her into his arms, carrying her up the stairs bridal-style.

“Asher, I’m too heavy for this,” Lita protested, but he gave her a look like she was crazy.

“Baby, I can carry you and our baby easily.” Asher effortlessly carried her into their room. He was feeling nervous for Lita. Would it be really painful for her? How could he help her?

“Asher, I’m fine. Everything is going to be fine. I need you to be calm for me,” Lita cooed to him as he gently sat her on the bed.

“I guess it’s too late to back out now,” Asher said with a sheepish grin.

“You think?” Lita giggled.

“Has the baby arrived?” Drew burst into the house, followed by Kennedy.

“Not yet,” Alice said, sitting beside Nathon, drinking tea. They beat Drew there, having traveled on the hippogryphs. The moment the messenger fairy got there, they hurried over to the Black Ice Pack.

Grayson was pacing at the bottom of the stairs.

He was just as nervous as Asher. He felt useless.

He wanted to help, but there was nothing he could do.

Caden and Rosa were coloring with Brody and Chasen in the kitchen.

Kristen, Garrett, Caspian, and Merida were sitting with Alice and Nathon.

Drew and Kennedy came over and sat with them.

Everyone was waiting for the arrival of the little princess.

The midwife finally came down the stairs. “The mother is doing just fine. Asher will be coming to speak to all of you shortly. Now if you would all please excuse me, this old woman is in need of a nap,” the gentle lady said as she walked out of the house.

It felt like hours before Asher finally came down the stairs. His face was unreadable as he looked around at everyone.

“Well?!” Grayson finally said, not able to take it anymore.

Tears started streaming down Asher’s face. He reached up and rested his head in his hands.

Everyone froze. Oh no. What happened?

Asher couldn't stop the streams coming from his eyes. His emotions were out of control. He felt like the pregnant woman, though they didn’t have a pregnant woman anymore. He looked up and wiped his eyes. He saw everyone looking at him nervously. He shook his head and smiled.

“Lita is doing fine … she’s great. And so are the babies.” Asher grinned widely.

“Did you say babies?!” Alice squealed, hopping up.

“We have twins. A little girl and a little boy.” Asher beamed proudly. He was shocked, overcome with happiness.

“Hell yeah, Asher! When you do something, you do it right!” Grayson grabbed him in a head lock and messed up his hair and Asher grinned at his excitement.

“We would like for you guys to come up and meet them,” Asher said as he managed to escape Grayson’s death hold. “Brody, Chasen … come on, boys.” Asher picked both boys up and led the way to his room. He opened the door, and Lita looked up, holding the two little bundles in her arms.

Asher lowered Brody and Chasen, and they both ran and climbed up next to Lita. They looked down at the two babies.

“Do you want to hold them?” Lita asked her two little men.

“Yes, but this one is mine,” Chasen said, pointing to one.

“Yeah, and this one is mine,” Brody said, pointing to the other.

“Boys, they can both be yours.” Lita giggled, and the two boys looked at her and shook their heads.

“No, that one isn’t mine. I’m this one’s guardian,” Brody said, and Chasen nodded his head, agreeing.

“Yeah, that’s right. I‘m only this one’s guardian. They’re both our siblings, but we’re only the guardian to one,” Chasen said.

“Well, I’ll be …” Alice said as she walked up closer to see her new grandbabies. “I guess that’s why you chose two guardians. Your magic knew you had two babies, and it picked a guardian for each of them.”

Asher sat beside Lita and smiled down at his family. “Okay Brody, sit back and hold your arms out.” Asher lifted the tiny baby in his arms and sat it in Brody’s. “This is Reiya, Brody. You chose to be the guardian of the little princess.”

“You ready, Chasen?” Lita asked, as she sat the little infant in his arms. “This is Hunter. You are the guardian of the future alpha.”

Both boys smiled. They were content, calm, and very enamored with the new babies.

Asher rested his head on Lita. “You did so well.” He kissed the top of her head gently.

“I take it you didn’t feel the births. You know, since you’re still standing and all,” Caden teased with a grin.

“Haha, no, I didn’t, and after seeing what she went through, I’m thankful that was something I didn’t have to feel.

” Asher shook his head and gave a crooked grin.

In fact, he didn’t want Lita going through it again.

They got their little girl and their little boy.

As far as he was concerned, they were blessed beyond measure, and their family was complete.

Lita looked up to him and smiled. She agreed. This moment was perfect. Their family was perfect.

Grayson leaned in closer to look at the two new arrivals.

“Easy, Grayson,” Brody snapped, holding Reiya up to his chest protectively.

Grayson chuckled. “Already the overprotective guardians. Gotta love how history repeats itself.”

“I guess we know why your body was getting so drained. You had two little magic babies sucking your energy up.” Alice giggled.

“I guess that makes sense. Asher couldn’t leave my side even for a second this last month. I’m looking forward to having some time to myself again,” Lita teased as she scrunched up her nose.

“Don’t count on it. I’ve gotten used to being around you every single second. I’m the one who will go through withdrawals now. I think I’ll just keep it up. I never minded.” Asher winked as Lita rolled her eyes at him.

“We’ll let you rest, Lita. We’ll come back and visit in a couple of weeks after you get more settled.” Alice leaned in and kissed Lita’s forehead.

“Congratulations to you both. Get some rest, Lita,” Nathon said, pointing his finger at his daughter.

“I’ll come back and visit soon, Sis.” Drew looked from his sister to Asher, nodding his head.

It was no longer his job to protect her, it was her mate’s.

Things had changed so much, but one thing that would never change was his love for his sister.

He would always be there to support her whenever she needed him.

Everyone slowly trickled out of the room, leaving only Grayson and the two boys.

“Come on, boys. We’re going to camp out for a couple of days. I’ll show you how to be good future guardians.” Grayson had volunteered to keep the boys busy. He knew Asher and Lita would need a couple of days to adjust, especially since she had just given birth.

“Yay!” The boys cheered. Asher and Lita each scooped up an infant as they watched Grayson run out of the room with the two youngsters.

Asher held Hunter in his arms and cuddled him into his chest as he snuggled beside Lita. “Baby, you feeling alright?”

Lita giggled. “Asher, you can feel how I’m feeling. I’m just fine. I’m tired, but very happy. Everything is perfect. Our family is perfect.”

“You were amazing, Lita. I can’t believe it. We went from a family of two, to a family of four, to a family of six within months.” Asher chuckled. “I thought we were supposed to be wolves, not rabbits.”

Asher checked on both babies as they slept in the bassinet before tiptoeing to bed. He slipped in beside Lita and pulled her into his arms.

“I wonder what the future has in store for our family,” Asher sighed as he breathed in her scent.

“Whatever it is, we’ll be there for them, whenever they need us.” She leaned into his touch with a gentle smile.

“Thank you. Thank you for giving me a family, for being my mate, for your unconditional love. Thank you for everything.” Asher planted little kisses all along her face.

“When I was growing up, I never thought I would have all of this, Asher. I’m the luckiest girl in the world.

This is the life I’d only read about before meeting you.

I never wanted a mate growing up. Even when I met you, I ran from you.

” They both chuckled at that part. “You were exactly what I needed. You accepted me and loved me so deeply. I never thought I could ever feel this strongly about someone, let alone that they would feel the same way about me. I love you, Asher. I don’t care what destiny we’re meant to face, as long as we face it together.

” She tilted her head up and kissed his lips.

“I love you, Lita. Thank you for being my reason. Thank you for being my destiny.”

He rested his lips on hers, kissing her tenderly with a gentle warmth.

His love and adoration for her echoed into her mind as hers did for him.

As long as they were together, they would face whatever life had in store.

They would rise to meet their destiny as a power couple.

Their love was meant to transcend boundaries.

For this was not the end of their love story. No … it was only the beginning.
