“That is the last piece of bacon!” Garrett growled as he rose to his feet.

“It is, isn’t it? Well, that’s going to make it taste even better.” Caden smirked as he lifted it to his lips.

“Don’t you dare! You’ve already had your fair share!” Garrett’s eyes narrowed on Caden as he took a small step around the table.

“What are you going to do about it, ‘Gamma’?” Caden stood and arched his brow in a challenge as Garrett let out a dark chuckle.

“Is that how it’s going to be? Well then—NO!” Garrett dove for Caden, who quickly shoved the bacon in his mouth. “That’s it!”

Lita watched as the two men locked into a wrestling match and tumbled onto the floor. She looked over at Asher, who was watching them in amusement. “Why didn't you tell them there’s more bacon in the oven?”

“Because this is more fun.” Asher grinned as the two men froze and turned their heads to look at their alpha.

“Holding out on us?” Caden asked, his gaze fixated on Asher.

“Wait a minute, I’m not part of your games.” Asher laughed as both men stalked toward him. “I’m your alpha, and—” Garrett pulled him from the table and Caden pounced on him, pulling him to the floor.

Kristen sighed and looked up at Lita. “It’s too late for you to get out now. Welcome to my world.”

“I love it.” Lita giggled as she watched the jumbled mess of bodies on the floor.

“It really feels like home now.” She was used to Teo and Drew wrestling and fighting over dumb stuff.

There was a sense of homecoming in the way they fought like this in front of her.

She wasn’t the stranger they felt they had to be polite around but part of their group.

Suddenly, a strong scent began emanating from her body. It almost smelled like honey. “I … smell funny.”

“Of course you do. You smell like Asher now.” Kristen watched Lita shake her head.

“That isn’t what I’m smelling.” Lita leaned to the side and sniffed herself. She could smell Asher, but there was also something sweet coming from her.

Caspian lifted his nose and immediately frowned. He could smell it, too. It had just started wafting off her body, which meant any moment now, they would be getting some company.

“Garrett, what the hell, man?! You bit me!” Caden jumped up, looking at Garrett as if he had the plague.

“If I bit you, you’d know it—yeouch!” Garrett hopped off Asher and began to rub his arm. “We have bugs.”

Asher sat up and Lita stared at him with wide eyes. “What are those?!” she asked, looking at the small, fuzzy creatures sitting near Asher. They were about the size of a hamster and looked like little balls of fluff with eyes.

“What are you looking at?” Asher looked around the floor, not seeing anything.

“They’re attracted to your scent.” Caspian sighed with irritation as Lita moved to the floor next to Asher. “Oh, Lita, don’t hold them. You’re only going to encourage their behavior.” He clicked his tongue and walked in front of Lita, waving the creatures away from her.

“Aww, Caspy, they’re cute.”

“What are cute?!” Asher grabbed Lita by her shoulders and pulled her against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her protectively, looking around at the floor.

“They’re little fairies called brownies. They came because of Lita’s scent. They’re little troublemaking pains. Lita, that sweet scent is something only fairies can smell. Others will be drawn to it, too. Things are going to get complicated.”

“Why?” Lita watched the little brownies as they scurried across the floor.

“Because some fairies are mischievous pests that can be a pain in the ass, and I don’t trust them with you.” Caspian growled again, and the little brownies, sensing danger, rushed out the door. They went right through it as if there was no door there.

“Will they hurt her?” Asher couldn’t fight an enemy he couldn’t see, but if it meant protecting Lita, he would figure out a way to.

“99% of them won’t. But, like all species, there are a few bad eggs. Don’t worry about them, though. They won’t be able to get anywhere near her. I’d kill any of them the instant I sensed them.” Caspian’s face was serious as Caden frantically started wiping his arms and scratching his head.

“I can feel them. They’re crawling on me!”

Lita began to laugh, and even Caspian chuckled. “Caden, they left. Nothing’s on you.”

“Oh …” He gave her a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Fairies are weak, right? Nothing to be concerned about.” Garrett sounded sure of himself, but Caspian laughed at him.

“Not the case at all, I’m afraid. Strengths vary.

My werewolf strength is different from my fairy strength.

However, there are a few fairies that would take the strength of the pack to take down, and it wouldn’t be without casualties.

There are also more species involved than just fairies.

There is one creature who could destroy an entire pack if they wanted to. But—”

“What about the danger you mentioned earlier? Can you elaborate more on it? Is it something you can handle?” Asher asked the question that had been burning in his mind.

“No, I can’t protect Lita from the threat that’s after her.

I’m not strong enough. But … well, there are things we will have to wait to discuss.

The other fairies will just be a headache.

They’re mostly annoying little troublemakers that tend to make messes or hide things.

Pests. With your permission, Alpha, I can set up a barrier to keep the little ones out.

It will be enough to keep out low-level fairies, but for the stronger fairies, we’ll need the strength of a guardian.

They naturally have a stronger aura that will keep the nuisance fairies away unless they’re invited, but having a guardian will make a higher-ranked fairy think twice before coming closer.

They are a force among forces and not a creature to be messed with. ”

Asher looked at Caspian and growled. “Is it dangerous to my pack?” He didn’t want his pack exposed to it if that was the case.

Caspian gave Asher a big, toothy grin. “Not really. Only if someone is a danger to your luna, or if it’s provoked. We need a guardian here. Lita is about to awaken, and you don’t want her to wake up without the help of a guardian.”

Asher paused, considering the options. “Please, put up the barrier.” Caspian nodded and swiftly left. He wanted to know more, but he would need to speak with Caspian, away from Lita. He didn’t like the idea of a guardian, but if they were there to protect Lita, he would allow it.

There was so much he didn’t know. He didn’t know much about fairies, other than that they existed, and now he was mated to one. Well, a half fairy who didn’t know anything about her kind, either. This was going to be a learning experience for both of them.

“Lita, you’re so amazing! I want to see magical fairy creatures, too!

” Kristen crossed her arms and fake-pouted, a smile cracking through.

Because she was part fairy, their luna really was better than all the other lunas.

They knew crosses existed but had never actually known of one.

Caspian was also part fairy, and they never even knew.

“She is absolutely amazing.” Asher beamed, standing up and pulling Lita with him.

“The most amazing mate anyone could ask for. And I’m the one who is blessed to have her by my side.

” He didn’t deserve her, but he needed her.

She was kind, forgiving, capable, and strong.

She brought out the best in him, but she also brought out his jealousy.

He had been feeling his strong, possessive nature taking hold.

It was something he would need to work on controlling.

“Well, I’m just creeped out. I never knew that fairies could be invisible. I can just imagine all the little perverts watching me as I change. I feel violated.” Caden held his hands over his chest teasingly.

“Who would look at you unless they wanted a laugh?” Garrett chuckled as he stood up to go out on patrol. His main job was pack borders, and now it looked like he was going to be extra busy. Asher had mindlinked him about staying on top of the patrols and making sure no one was slacking.

As Garrett went to open the door, he stopped as a mindlink was sent to the top three: Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. There was an accidental mix-up with the training juice.

“Shit,” Asher growled. “I thought I ordered that stuff to be monitored!”

“You did.” Caden glanced at Asher, his eyes filled with concern. “This could be really bad.”

“What happened?” Lita glanced between the men, sensing the urgency.

“There was an accidental mix-up with our training juice. I don’t know the extent of it, but this could be really bad … even fatal if too much was taken.” Asher watched as Lita sprinted away.

“Let me get my bag!”
