Story: The WitchSlayer

“Can you still walk through it?”

She lifted her hands in front of her and walked forward. His eyes widened when he was met with silence, and she slipped right through.

He exited his cave as he kept his eyes on the entrance, trying to understand how it was possible, why the ward wasn’t working against her. It was designed to keep Witches and pixies out.

“Although I now believe your story, I cannot allow you to be free if you can do this,” he finally said, trying to think of a way around having to put her in the cell.

If the Elders found out, they would take her. They would also punish him, and he’d rather not deal with that.

Mahesh the Flightless was wingless for a reason.

He watched her shoulders slump, but she nodded as if she understood, to which he internally cringed.

Eyeing the ward he could see was still in place, he eventually pushed her back inside and took it down so he could reapply it, changing the ward completely.

“Try now.”

With a sigh, she lifted her hands and walked forward. This time, she was blocked by it. She frowned, running her hands along it to check that she was barricaded in.

Well, this is peculiar. He changed it so that it kept everyone out except for the person who created it. The only way for him to allow people through was to either have someone invite them inside, or he would have to lower it and reapply it.

It would keep everything out. Animals he let come inside so he could make a quick meal of them, fairies, pixies, Witches, and humans. Even other Dragons couldn’t penetrate it.

Although it was strange that his other ward didn’t perceive she was a Witch and keep her in, he grinned. This meant she was once again trapped inside the way she was before.

“Excellent, I have created a solution. One that shall be entertaining for me when Glov tries to fly inside.”

He will smack against the barrier, and it will be hilarious.

She continued to keep her hands against it. “Does that mean everything is fine now?”

He nodded. “Yes. You may continue to walk through my lair. Everything can go back to the way it was.”

She turned her face up to him, meeting his eye.

“Kind of.” He tilted his head, not understanding what she was implying. “Thank you for healing me and finding a solution. I am going to rest since I am still not feeling well.”

She turned from him and went to her room. His eyes followed her as a frown formed across his face.

What did she mean?

Chapter 19

It didn’t take Rurik many days to understand what the Witch meant.

All had been forgiven in the terms of her injury and being locked away. She told him that she understood it must have been easy to misinterpret what she’d been doing at the time. But things didn’t go back to the way they were before that day.

When he was in his Dragon form, she had no issue being in his presence. She continued to spend time with him, but she didn’t touch him as much, didn’t stroke his scales like she occasionally had.

She also wouldn’t be around Rurik while he was human.

If he came to her while in that form, she would immediately stop what she was doing and retreat to her alcove.

He could scent her desire sometimes when she was with him, but it was fleeting. It would come, and he would grin to himself, until moments later it would vanish, and her face would almost appear crestfallen.

Her avoidance frustrated him. Her no longer freely feeling desire for him maddened him, because what he had been hoping would curb his curiosity had only made him want her more.

She had tasted sweet on his tongue, had felt exquisite under his palms and against his body. The noises she’d made often caused his ears to tingle in memory. His cock would start to harden when he remembered what she felt like wrapped around it.
