Story: The WitchSlayer
She tried to get away by wriggling up, and he stopped her, releasing his bite to lift his head with a frown.
“You have never complimented me before. I did not know you found me handsome, and I did not know you felt that way about something that is not the same as you. I was laughing because I found that strange. I had not expected you to say such a thing about me as a Dragon.”
Her eyes flickered between his silver ones as he spoke.
“And?” He still hadn’t answered her question.
“To be quite honest with you, any female who has come to my lair for this reason has only done so once.” He glided his hand between her breasts with a grin, like he thoroughly enjoyed his next words. “Most find me irritable and infuriating. I am ill-tempered, and they often bark back. I have had many claw fights with those I have bedded.”
“You seem pleased with that.”
She shook her head as the tension in her body finally faded. So, she would most likely not die by a jealous lover. That calmed her.
“I know who I am and have accepted it. It also means that I will not have a female attempt to become my mate.”
“You do not want one?”
She assumed he meant partner, but in Dragon terms.
“Whether I want one or not, the likelihood that I will not is high.” His hand traced over the top of her breast and the skin of the rosy peak that topped it. It sent a tingle throughout her body. “But no, I do not wish for hatchlings and a mate who I will leave shortly in my death. I am a hunter who often throws himself into dangerous situations against Witches. I hunt for Strolguil the Vast relentlessly. If I am not destined to be the one to kill him, then he will destroy me before long.” Then he laughed to himself as his eyes fell elsewhere. “Plus, If I do manage to reach an old and frail stage, I doubt that I will find a female I can stand and one who will know how to handle me.”
“Youarea rather difficult bastard,” she laughed, trying to draw away from this kind of conversation.
Amalia didn’t need to know about his plans for his future since she likely wouldn’t be a part of them.
He gave her a scowl. “Well, you are about to have this difficult bastard’s cock inside you, so shut your trap.”
He raised himself up to forcibly take her mouth with his own, and she couldn’t help giggle under his lips. She didn’t know if he was truly irritated with her, but her laughter seemed to deflate what he’d been feeling.
Chapter 26
Amalia woke to the most sinful warmth. The kind of radiant heat that she’d only ever felt when she’d woken in the sun after falling asleep outside in the middle of a cold, winter’s day. The kind of warmth that was spreading and took away any chill to encase her.
She found herself still surrounded by Rurik’s body as he softly played with the ends of her curling hair. She hadn’t expected to wake still in his arms. When she turned her head to him, she noted he was awake.
Although his hair looked tousled, it didn’t appear as though it was messed from sleep.
He was watching her, and when she faced him, his heavy lids flickered when his eyes came to greet hers.
“Did you not sleep?”
He shook his head lightly. “I have only slept in this form when I have needed to be in a human town and have sealed myself behind heavy wards.”
Amalia blinked. He did not trust me enough to sleep? But she already knew that. She thought she would wake up alone or find him lying in his Dragon form near the entryway to her alcove.
She decided not to care. Perhaps because he had stayed with her, she didn’t have any nightmares of her burning. She had rested well and was at ease.
Actually, she felt like she was pulsating with energy.
Now that she was awake enough to realise it, she felt the fibres of her hair stand on end on her scalp. A tingle trailed all the way through her spine, and she felt it flutter all the way along it, from the base of her skull all the way to her tailbone. Those tingles then spread all throughout her body, causing every part of her skin to prickle at once.
“You are becoming aroused,” he said with a chuckle.
She could feel her body becoming slick, her nipples hardening. That energy seemed to make everywhere delicate throb, even the lips on her face, her ears, the sensitive bundle of nerves near her wrists. She even started to pant from it.
“I thought that I would have to combat you when you woke to stay in this bed with me.”
Amalia had so much energy that she needed to release it somehow. She didn’t feel embarrassed, didn’t even think twice about it, when she jumped him and brought herself on top of him.
