Story: The WitchSlayer
She pulled her head back with a face that told him she wouldn’t allow his interference in this. He would try to interfere, but he had a feeling Amalia would get upset if he were to fight with his mother in front of her, especially since they both easily liked to whip their claws out.
“Nyota!” she yelled with a stern motherly tone. “You are to come with me. Do not remain here and annoy your older brother.”
“But–”
“No!” Both Rurik and Nayana shouted at the same time.
“Fiiiiine,” she whined, giving a huff and an annoyed swish of her tail before she turned to leave the main room.
Nayana followed behind her to make sure she actually left.
“Glov,” Rurik growled in warning.
“No, I can see that I am not to remain. I only came because of the Elders,” he answered, but he did duck his head to the side to look at Amalia. “After the events of the black moon and what I have learned today, I can see that I was mistaken about you. I will attempt to make amends with you on a later date.”
Amalia didn’t respond, but Rurik nodded his head. He was thankful Glov wouldn't be an irritant in the future.
And then they were all gone, leaving Rurik and Amalia standing alone in the main room of their lair.
“Well, that was awfully scary,” Amalia sighed as the tension in her shoulders lessened.
“I asked Glov to bring them here with the intention of revealing all this, but I had hoped to give you warning about it first. I did not think they would come so soon. Being old and often disagreeing upon discussions, the Elders usually take their time.”
Rurik could see that she looked worn, not physically, but emotionally.
She is upset. He lifted his arm to inspect the binding to see that his arm had been blackened in the markings of the design she had put on him. Then he grabbed her arm to check it, seeing that her marking was very light, barely noticeable, but was indeed there.
She inspected it as well.
“I did not know if you would be able to mark me with this kind of bonding since you already did one.” Amalia reached up to touch under her chin so her fingertips could flutter against the tribal Dragon against her throat. “I am glad that we can still see it, though.”
He hadn’t been sure either, but multiple male Dragons could mate with a singular female. It didn’t often bode well, but it was possible. He thought since they could be marked by different Dragons, he might be able to mark her twice.
She will not be receptive to me right now.Rurik also didn’t want to pressure his mate when he could see she was upset.Perhaps I can take her for a walk through the forest since she has not done so yet.
Rurik wanted to watch this woman be her witchy self in the woods and flitter around within the nature her kind often like to revel in. He thought it would please him to see her be herself, and he thought it may also cheer her up.
Or...
“Perhaps you may like to take a flight with me?”
Now that she was his, he saw no issue with taking her up on her request. It would be something she would continue to ask him for, and he wanted to offer it as a gift rather than for her to plead with him for it.
Tenderness filled his chest when his question was immediately met with a bright smile. He returned it with a grin, a devious plot unveiling itself within his mind.
Chapter 42
Rurik had flown with Amalia gently at first, making sure not to suddenly bank too quickly or dip their height. He hadn’t wanted to frighten her or further upset her.
It didn’t take him long to realise she was rather content and comfortable with him, and that he could be bolder.
And it was after the first time he twisted in the air, momentarily placing her upside down and she let out a squeal of excitement, that he understood she trusted him fully to know he wouldn’t endanger her.
He checked on her occasionally by looking over his shoulder. Kneeling between his shoulder blades with his wings behind her, the bright smile she was giving to the sky above with her eyes closed had sent a tremor through his body.
The wind was cutting through her purple dress, making it flutter behind her as it moulded to the front of her body, showing all of her curves to him. Her long blonde hair wisped behind her and seemed to glow in the bright sunlight that shone directly upon it.
The enjoyment he could see as she held onto two of his spikes for safety while her head was tilted back, allowing him to view his mark on her completely, had been beautiful, breath-taking even.
