Story: The Vampire Oracle
I moved quickly through the shadows of Evercrest and back into Kier’s neighborhood. I had used Abel’s computer to set up this meeting, and part of me knew that this could have been a trip, but it was important to me.
Getting justice for Kennedy was important to me.
I used my right arm to help push me to climb back up to my bedroom window. I was quicker than I had ever been, shoulder stretching when I was back into my room. I stood, feeling the sweat dripping down my body. I would never get over the rush of being Spectre at night, like when Briar got blasted by the drug addict, and I went during the night. It’s a rush, a thrill, and hope that something exciting would happen while hoping nothing happened.
“Is this going to be a habit?” Kier’s voice filled the air, and I looked over to see him taking up the huge chair in the corner.
“No,” I muttered, looking at him.
“Where were you?”
I rolled my eyes. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“That’s why I asked, Psalm. Do not make this difficult. Where were you?”
I sighed. “Out, Kier. You are not my dad, so please don’t act like it.”
Kier scoffed, standing and moving to me. “You want to go out and kill yourself trying to do this alone, go. I was kind, gave you a place to stay, and—”
“To fuck me! You and I both know if I wasn’t hot or Spectre, I would not be here right now.”
“Well, you are, and you’re not allowed to leave the house whenever you feel like it, Ashbourne,” he explained with a tight jaw. “Vampires are after you or are you too selfish to understand that?”
I swallowed. “Selfish? If the vampires took me in the beginning, the academy and Kennedy would be okay. You tell me what’s more selfish, one useless one-arm girl or the lives of innocent people that died because of her.”
“This isn’t your fault. You—”
“We both know you don’t believe that shit or else you would be less of a dickhead to me.”
He blinked. “No. I’m just a cocky dickhead that liked to protect what’s his.”
“I’m not yours!”
He fisted my hair, tilting my head back to look up at him. “You are mine, whether you fucking like it or not. Get dressed. You and I are going out.”
He let me go, moving to the bedroom door.
“I took the liberty to buy you a dress. Wear it.”
I scoffed, eyes landing on the beautiful dress on the bed.

Psalm’s heeled boot hit the bottom of the stairs. All eyes were locked on her. She was wearing the slick black dress that hugged every curve of her body. My eyes dropped around the curves of her breasts as they were shown off through the lowcut top. I was right. She looked amazing in that dress, and I picked the perfect size.
Abel whistled, almost drooling.
Psalm did a full circle, a smirk on her lips as she moved to him. Her jet-black hair was down in curls, just how I liked it.
His hands pulled on her hips to him, pulling her to him.
Jealousy hit the pit of my stomach.
“I’ll take you right here in front of everyone.”
“Gag,” Cain teased, making me smirk behind my beer bottle. It was the only one I had, seeing as I had to drive her around.
