Story: Ruthless Beast
“Oh, well,” I say, “you may as well shoot him in the head. We know Gallo has Emily, so we don’t need this little turd anymore. Thanks for playing, Damon, but you’re out.”
Andreas pulls out his gun and starts to screw on the silencer before he points it at Damon’s head.
“Wait!” he yells.
“What was that? Did you suddenly remember something important, young man?” I smirk.
“She’s in Mexico. Emily is in Mexico.”
“Mexico?” I say.
“Where in Mexico?” Andreas says, pushing the edge of the silencer into Damon’s temple. “It’s a big country.”
“I’ll tell you if you let me go.”
“No. You’ll tell me, and then I’ll decide what to do with you.”
Andreas pulls back the hammer on the gun. Damon is openly panicking now, squirming in the chair.
“Okay,” he shouts. “Okay, I’ll tell you.”
“Start talking!” Andreas roars.
“Tijuana. Emily is in Tijuana.”
How the hell did they get her out of the country? This is bad. Mexico is no place for someone like Emily. I imagine that wherever Gallo is holding Emily, it probably isn’t the Ritz.
“Where?” I demand.
“I’ll take you there. You won’t get past the front door unless I do.”
Andreas knocks Damon on the side of his head with the butt of the gun. He’s lights out.
“What do you think, Lucas? Is he bullshitting us? Can we trust that this rat won’t lead us straight into a trap?” Andreas asks once Damon is out cold.
“I don’t see too many alternative choices here, my friend. We have to get to Emily before Gallo decides to use her against me.”
“I know you don’t want to hear this, Lucas, and I’m really sorry for even bringing it up. But what if Damon’s full of shit? What if Emily is dead and he’s lying to lure us into a trap?”
“Gallo is a bastard, but he’s cunning. He won’t hurt Emily if he thinks he can use her against me. No, Emily is alive and in Mexico. Once this bastard wakes up, we’ll start working on a plan.”
“Okay, Boss.”
“You did good, Andreas.”
“Thanks, Lucas.”
“There’s one more thing,” I say before I leave Andreas to deal with Damon. “We can’t drag our feet on this one. We have to get to Emily sooner rather than later. She’s carrying my child.”

“He’s awake, and he’s singing like a canary,” Andreas smiles.
“Is he now? I guess Damon is smarter than he looks.”
“Forget Ginkgo Biloba. Nothing is quite as effective for memory loss as a silencer to the temple.”
“Isn’t that the truth?” I snort. “Where in Tijuana is Emily?”
