“You’re forgetting how it works when I give you an order,” Gavin replies.

“I want to suck you off in the truck, and I want you so hard and horny and desperate for me. I love how you sound, and it makes me so wet. Please, sir, can we wait? It makes it so much hotter, and I want it to be so good for you. We can fuck in a bed later. I want to give you the best road head of your life.”

He lets out a long breath, closes his eyes, and takes a few beats to steady himself. “Fine. You win. I’ll see you soon, beautiful girl.”

We’re almost in town, singing along to old school country songs just like old times when Gavin turns and winks at me.

“Remember our deal?”

“After the pizza,” I reply. “You promised me Papa Bill’s, and I’m not distracting you from that mission until there’s cheese in my mouth.”

“You’d look hotter with my dick in your mouth.”

“I guess I kind of walked into that one.”

“Did you reach out to the insurance company today?”

“Yeah,” I reply, “And it’s going to take forever to settle.”

They certainly don’t make the claims process easy, and I have two: my vehicle and the cabin. I don’t expect a huge payout from either one, but I’ll need to fight for any cent that I do receive.

“Are you getting a rental car?”

“They’re going to drop one off,” I reply. “Figured I’d wait until they had something comparable so I don’t get stuck in a Civic.”

He chuckles. “That would be a crime.”

“And since you’re keeping me prisoner here, there’s no rush.”

“Keep it up and I’ll tie you up so you’re stuck with me forever.”

“I think I might enjoy you making good on that threat, sir.”

“I’m driving back home. Fuck pizza.”

“Gavin!” I squeal. “We’re literally in the parking lot.”

“Alright, but let’s make it quick. You can’t just dangle my fantasies in front of my face and then not deliver.”

I lean over the console so I can kiss him. “I’ll deliver, cowboy. Everything you need.”

“You’re everything I need.”

It’s the sweetest, most tender thing he’s said to me in years. And it gives me some tentative hope for a future that just might include him. I have no idea how a relationship would work logistically, but if you want something – someone – bad enough, you find a way.

There’s always a way forward.

“And you’re even more than I ever dreamed was possible,” I reply.

He comes around to the passenger side and lifts me out of the truck. But instead of setting me down, he carries me into the pizza shop like he’s bringing a bride over the threshold of a new house.

We’re laughing when we enter the restaurant, but my heart sinks when Gavin sets me down and I catch sight of Mark and his friends standing in line ahead of us.

“Shit,” I mutter.

“Don’t worry,” Gavin replies. “I’ve got you.”
