He watched as her eyes slipped close and she lost consciousness.
This isn't the first time he'd taken a female until she fainted, but this is the first time it actually mattered to him.
He leaned in and survey her with his hands. His wolf who was stretched out inside him and humming in satisfaction reached out to its mate too.
Then, the wolf growled pleasantly, confirming with him that their woman will be fine.
For a little while, he stood there just watching her sleep. She was beautiful. Utterly, indescribably beautiful.
In the next few minutes, he cleaned up and put on his nightclothes. He covered her up nicely with a duvet, before leaving the bed for her.
Then, he just stood beside the bed and watched her sleeping form.
A month ago, if anyone had told him that He would find solace in the arms of a human, that he would enjoy sex from a human's body, and hewould also enjoy the human too not just the sex, he would have pounced on that person in rage and tore him limb by limb.
For a male like himself; it does not get any more ridiculous than those words. But yet, here he was.
In the beginning, he'd thought the heavens and the moon goddess must have been playing a cruel, sick joke on him when they made her out to be his mate. Her a small drunk human he'd met at the human bar.
But, he had been wrong. Whoever dwells up there for his kind seems to know what he or she was doing, he finally admitted.
His eyes rested on her form again. Who would have thought that arms so small had so much to give?
For once in ages, he wondered what it'll feel like to sleep in the same bed with another person. With her. He has never slept in bed with anyone since he was a child—not since Nalaila was six and afraid to sleep in her room because of the storm.
He never slept in the same bed with the females he'd taken sexually because he does not want to share that kind of intimacy with any of them. He never had the urge to do so. Until now.
He turned then and headed to the door.
But then again, he cannot give in because of the fact that for a while now, he's been waking up in his mountain lion form.
At the door, he spared her one last glance before he walked out of it, and soundlessly closed the door.
Who would have thought that arms so small had so much to give?
The question repeated itself in his mind.
It did not get past his notice that, with every step he took, he did not feel any pain in his left leg anymore. Not even a twitch. Nothing.
CHAPTER 25. ...A RARE, GREAT MOOD.
It was late afternoon when Alphose finally decided to go to the Tower and check on the Alpha King.
Before he made that decision, he'd been in an argument with himself about whether to go visit or not. Wolfaraine had a lot of recovering to do, so he needs to spend some intimate time alone with his mate.
But at the same time, he knows that the longer he stays without telling him about the human in Naturiah, the more it's gonna cause a problem when he finds out on his own. Hence, his decision.
At the Tower gates, the changelings on duty greeted the cougar Alpha with a bow of their heads as he entered and headed for the entrance door.
The smell of sex harassed his nose even right from the third stair and only got stronger with every step he took closer to that door. So, Alphose hesitated at the door, not wanting to interrupt anything. He pitied and admired Ismena.
Poor little woman. She has a lot of giving to do if those infected, rhodium wounds are ever gonna heal early. And from the scent of it, she was giving a lot.
"Good morning, Alpha Alphose. Are you looking for the Alpha King?"
Alphose turned to the voice of the housekeeper coming from behind him, "Good morning to you too, Mirian. You are looking very good this morning."
A sweet smile spread over the older woman's face, "Thank you so much, but you flatter an old woman, My Lord."
