Finally, he placed a hand on her shoulder and urged her forward until her face came really close to him, then, he placed a kiss on her nose. "Thank you, Ismena."
Her eyes closed, and she felt the kiss all the way to her belly. After the part of their intimacy, her body was feeling funny again. Aroused, hungry for him.
It does not surprise her anymore whenever her body craves more sexual intimacy with him, even when she was exhausted. He was becoming an addiction.
It scares the very devil outta her but she knows it for what it is. An ardent, obsessive, addiction.
They laid down like that for longer than they should, considering that the Alpha King is being expected for the council meeting.
She noticed that his breathing was still uneven and his eyes were still closed. Physically, he does not look like there's anything wrong, but something felt wrong to Ismena.
"Are you alright?" She asked concerned.
Back in Eline's house, she dropped Sandra on top of the couch, stepped back, crossed her arms, and looked at her like she was a case study.
Sandra was sulking like a child. She glared at Eline, "For a moment there I forgot you ain't human. You had to carry me like that!?"
"You wanted to put us in trouble, Sandra." Eline replied, "Next time, please try to do everything I say especially when we are outside. This is Naturiah. Although our people are good, friendly, and peaceful most of the time, some of us do not like humans that much. That makes it dangerous for you."
She took a deep breath and continued, "Since you are under my care, I want you to try and listen to me when we are outside. Try to trust me. If Isay we run, you start running immediately. Questions to be asked later. Do you understand?"
Sandra has been in Naturiah for a week and in that duration of time, she has learned more than a few things about these people. She learned through Ismena that Eline is one of the elite soldiers of her cougar clan known as a Sentinel.
Eline has always been sweet and kind to them, so she'd always had a hard time associating the woman with a tough soldier but now, she can easily see her as one, with a commanding tone like that.
"Do you understand, Sandra?" Eline repeated.
"Alright, I understand." She conceded.
Eline relaxed visibly. She nodded too before going to the nearest chair and lowering herself on it.
"So, now that we've gotten that out of the way, what happened back there?" Sandra thought about it, "Don't tell me that Mena was being attacked by a wild animal and the only command you gave was for us to run!? What about my best friend!?" She gasped, panic in her eyes.
A smile feathered Eline's lips then, "Nope, your best friend was not being attacked by any wild animal." On second thought, she added, "Well, he is a wild animal, but not the way you think."
That didn't reassure Sandra, instead, it made her panic the more, "What!?"
Eline sat up, "Okay, listen. Are you listening?"
Sandra nodded repeatedly.
"Ismena is perfectly fine. She is with her mate. She is in safe hands."
"Her mate? Do you mean, the one she stole his ring and in turn, he brought her to Naturiah to hold her captive slash protect her until the ring is found? The male who she's fated to be with for eternity? The one who is the leader of this land, most feared and the most powerful?"
"You have a good memory. Yes, he is the one. He is the Alpha King of this land." Eline answered with a nod of her head.
"But he's on a business trip to the human world and has been there for two weeks."
"He is back now. He was with her in the woods."
"How did you know that? We saw no one while we were going to meet Ismena, you can't just assume something like that on your own." Sandra arched her brows suspiciously.
"He spoke to me. I told you about the ability some clans have, to communicate with others without shouting or going close to them?"
Sandra remembered that, "Oh, yes, you did. You said when a changeling is stronger, he can communicate with someone even at a farther distance than most can."
"Exactly. The Alpha King smelled us coming. So, he commanded us not to come any closer."
