Story: Ivan
I said your face is radiant when you play, but the internet was close enough. I had a lot to drink when I wrote that, so don’t read too much into it.

Dear Ivan,
Thank you!! It would be amazing if you did find out who this person is. It never occurred to me to be concerned, I just wanted to be able to thank them (it could be a woman…). I mean, they were right, Briar Ridge has a superior music program compared to the local high school. But maybe this situation is weirder than I realized??
No matter your condition, I still appreciate the compliment. :)
Sincerely,
Emmy

I’ve found out some information about your benefactor. I don’t think this person is dangerous, just generous. I wouldn’t worry about them.
12/7
Dear Ivan,
What?? You aren’t going to tell me? I’m dying to know who it is, especially if they aren’t dangerous. I want to thank them (Him? Her?) for giving me the opportunity to receive such a great education. Is it someone I know? You have to tell me!! Maybe I can find out for myself…
Sincerely,
Emmy
12/9
Do not even think of looking into this matter, Emmy.
12/10
Dear Ivan,
You aren’t doing much to lessen my curiosity. Why is it so top secret??
By the way, are you coming home for Christmas?
Sincerely,
Emmy
12/18
Emmy, this person likes to do this for a lot of students who are musically gifted. They requested to stay anonymous so they could continue doing this for other students. They don’t want to be revealed. I know it’s frustrating but think of the other kids that still need help.
Don’t look into it.
I’ll be in Russia for Christmas.
12/19
Dear Ivan,
Ugh, you’ve put me in the most frustrating position! I am dying of curiosity, but I don’t want to jeopardize some other person's chances to get the same opportunities I did. I suppose I will leave it alone. I did ask my mom after your previous email, but she shut me down immediately, telling me that the school insisted I not look into it. It’s so annoying, but I guess I understand.
I wish you were coming home for Christmas. You could come to my Christmas concert. It must be lonely to spend the holidays in Russia and I’d like to see you. Have a real conversation with you.
