Story: Her Vagabond Heart

I stood up and pulled her against me, kissing her softly, giving her body time to build up again.
The sound of her breathing deepening let me know she was ready for more, so I put a bit of heat into the kiss. Letting my hands roam over her body, finding all the places that made her shudder and moan. When I was sure she was ready, I slid my cock into her. She wrapped her arms and legs around me, her body arching against mine. We moved together slowly, andI loved the way she clung to me, running her hands down my back, her lips locked on mine.
“Stefania.”
She pulled back a little and looked into my eyes. Her own were dark, fathomless. A man could drown in those eyes and not even be sorry. I dropped my forehead to hers, watching her while I fucked her slowly, not knowing where I ended and she began. I felt like she’d dug a hook into my chest and was pulling it so tight I couldn’t get away. And I didn’t even fucking care. I kissed her fiercely, grabbing her hips and thrusting into her, mindless with the need to feel her break apart in my arms.
“Grayson,” she gasped, wrapping her legs around me tighter still and dropping her head to my shoulder. “Yes, like that. Oh god, just like that.”
I felt her body tighten around me and gritted my teeth to hold back my own orgasm. She went rigid, her whole body jerking, and I felt her teeth sinking into my flesh. The sharp pain was enough to send me over the edge and I emptied myself inside her.
I stumbled into the desk chair, pulling Stef with me onto my lap. I pressed a kiss to her forehead, stroking her hair. She was completely still, utterly sated in my arms. As I held her, a thought floated to the top of my mind. Of all the sex we’d had in this house, this had been the most intense, the most meaningful. I didn’t know what to make of that. Maybe it was just because we both knew we were leaving today. Yeah, that was probably it.
CHAPTER 34
Stefania
Iwas lounging on Grayson’s plush sofa, in his condo, idly stroking Patti’s soft head, trying to concentrate on my eReader. Waiting for Grayson to come home was the pits. I glanced at the clock. It had been a few days since I’d seen him, what with his crazy work schedule and all. I couldn’t wait to see him and catch up. And by catch up, I mean…
Just then, my phone buzzed. I snatched it up, hoping it was Grayson. Nope, it was Esme. Almost as good!
“Hey, girl!” her cheerful voice rang out. “We’re in Raleigh for the afternoon while Wolfe’s working. Can we come up?”
“Shit, yes!” I exclaimed. “I’d love to see you and the kiddos.”
“Great. We’ll be there in a minute.”
“I’ll get the coffee on.”
A few minutes later, the elevator pinged, and the doors slid open with a quiet whoosh. Esme and the kids tumbled out and I rushed to greet them.
“Stef!” they shouted, launching themselves at me for a group hug.
“Hey, my little strawberry muffins! God, it’s so good to see you!”
Handing Patti to Ariel, I hugged Esme, giving her a good squeeze. “Man, I’m glad you’re home. Texting just doesn’t cut it.”
“No, it doesn’t. I’m sorry we didn’t get to catch up sooner! We’d barely landed back in the country and Henry and Christine demanded that we spend the weekend with them.”
“That sucks.”
“It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, to be honest. Christine is making an effort with the kids, which is nice. And they’re really polite. Sometimes painfully so, but I can handle it. Although Christine asked my opinion on some new soft furnishings she’s thinking of for one of the guest rooms. Honestly, I didn’t know where to look. What the fuck do I know about interior decorating?”
I laughed. “What did you say?”
“Well, I thought the tone of the green didn’t quite match the base color she was going with, so I sort of said that, then apologized.”
“How did she react?”
“She agreed! And thanked me!”
“That’s awesome!”
“It was pretty cool.”
“Alright, kiddos. I want to hear allll about Paris, and the Riviera and the yacht. All of it!”
“Disneyland was my favorite.”
