Story: Her Vagabond Heart

“You can use the outdoor shower.”
“Oh, neat. Let’s go.” She climbed off me, grinning at the fact that her legs were still a bit shaky. Taking my hand, she pulled me from the recliner and dragged me to the shower.
I set the temperature and when I thought it was right, gestured for Stef to step under. She sighed and closed her eyes, letting the water rinse the ocean from her hair.
“Come on,” she said, with her eyes still closed.
I joined her, slipping my arms around her waist and just standing there with her, with the water cascading over us. She looked utterly blissed out, and I could feel the warmth of her body pressed against mine. I let myself acknowledge, however fleetingly, that it was a feeling I wanted to get used to.
Almost like she could read my mind, a soft smile curved her lips and her fingers toyed with the hair at the nape of my neck. My heart did a slow roll in my chest and I felt my gut tighten. To lighten the feeling, I leaned down and blew a raspberry right on her lips. Stef’s eyes flew open in surprise and she burst out laughing, making me smile and easing the tightness in my gut.
“Random! Okay, now I’m starving.”
“Let’s go then.”
I turned the water off and grabbed some toweling robes from the outdoor cupboard. Once we were dried off, we went inside. Stef set the table while I plated up.
She sat, taking a big forkful of cheesy quiche. Then another. It was clear her appetite had returned in full force. It was good to see.
“Fuck, this is so good.” She raised her eyes to mine and caught me watching her. Leaning back in the chair and putting her feet in my lap, she picked up her plate and eyed me for a moment. “Eat up. You’re gonna need all your strength in the next few days.”
I raised an eyebrow at her. “Yeah?”
Her eyes were dancing, and I braced myself for the outrageous thing I knew she was about to say.
“Yeah. For all the banging we’re going to do, now that I’m better.”
Letting out a mock sigh, I said, “We all have our cross to bear, I guess.”
CHAPTER 32
Stefania
True to my word, I banged Grayson Rivers. On every surface, in every room, on the beach, in the ocean. Every-fucking-where. And it was glorious. The way my body was just so hungry for him made me feel so alive. I couldn’t get enough of it.
I felt like I’d been sick forever and coming back to life was like being reborn. I had so much energy and I poured it all into Grayson.
My daily schedule used to be;
Wake up, force myself to shower. Force myself to eat breakfast. Drag myself to the recliner. Lie there all day. Force myself to eat dinner. Go to bed. Rinse, repeat, to infinity.
Now it was more like, wake up, bang Grayson. Shower, bang Grayson. Eat breakfast, bang Grayson. Then sit around bored out of my ever-loving mind when he had to go into his study to work. I’d pretty much left him to that, waiting until he came out to make me lunch before I banged him again.
Now here I was, on the recliner, Patti in my lap, listening to music while I gazed out at the waves. And what was I doing? Thinking about all that banging, obviously. Which was making me horny as hell, also obviously.
That gave me an idea. With a wicked smile, I lay Patti gently on the recliner next to me and pushed to my feet. A quick check in the bathroom mirror let me know I looked okay, so I made my way down the end of the long hallway, past our bedroom door, to Grayson’s study.
I heard his deep, gravelly voice, all businesslike and authoritative, and it gave me goosebumps.
“…acquisition deal. I need you to get your ass in gear and find me a property that’s big enough for the development. And don’t give me any of that bullshit about legal issues. I don’t have time for that. Just find me a place and make it happen.”
He was frowning, staring down at a file that was open in front of him. So fucking hot.
“Yeah, I already said I don’t have time for that, Carson.”
Oh, poor baby, he sounded stressed. And didn’t I know just what to do to help him with that? At the sound of my footsteps, his eyes shot to mine, and I saw the heat that flared there. He watched me walk across the room and round the end of his desk.
“Uh huh. We’ve already tried that tactic. If it had worked, we wouldn’t have needed to bring you in.”
