Story: Broken Bridges
And grow hotter.
Oh, yes we do.
But I had to clear the air about one more thing with Cole first. After placing my glass down, I turned to him. “Are we cool?”
“Yeah. Always.” He grabbed the bottle of vodka and refilled the glasses. “No more sneaking around, okay?”
“No. We won’t.” I smoothed my hands over my jeans and rounded my shoulders. “But can I stretch a favor?”
“Depends on what it is.” He leaned against the bar.
The slow, sensual circles of Lewis’s thumb on my bare skin beneath my T-shirt were getting harder and harder to ignore. But I could do this. Cole first. “My original plan was to move out once I got settled in LA. With work and career changes and Lewis, life got a bit off track. Now we’re together, we want to find a place of our own.” We’d talked about it on the flight home. “But with the tour coming up, are you okay if we wait until we get back?”
“God, yes.” Cole downed his shot. “I love having you here. Stay as long as you like. My home is your home.”
I wouldn’t overstay my welcome that much, but I’d take it for now. “Thank you.”
He play-punched Lewis on the arm. “Make this work. I want you two to be happy.”
“We will.” Lewis nodded. “Thank you.”
“Good. Now let’s go sink some balls.” Cole pointed toward the games room on the other side of the kitchen.
“Um...” Lewis pursed his lips, then winced. He turned to me, then back to Cole, as if he were torn between hanging out with the guys and wanting to take me to bed. But then he shook his head at Cole. “Rain check.” A mischievous smile inched across his mouth as he took my hand and drew me off the stool. “Wehave some unfinished business.”
“I’m amazed you’ve lasted this long.” Slip waved his shot at us, then tipped it down his throat.
I placed my free hand on Cole’s arm and kissed him on the cheek. “Better turn that music up even more if you don’t want to hear us. Love you.”
Grinning, he grabbed his cell phone, and upped the volume on the sound system. “You’re right—I don’t. Not ever.”
Lewis waved to everyone. “Night.”
Flint chuckled. “You won’t be sleeping if Tia’s involved.”
Lewis pointed at him. “Good thing I’m okay with that.”
“See you tomorrow.” I blew everyone a kiss. “Love you.”
Hand in hand, Lewis and I ambled toward the stairs, but at the bottom, he picked me up, threw me over his shoulder, and carried me to my bedroom. Laughing, he placed me on my feet and kissed my lips. “I’d waited long enough to get you alone.”
I locked the latch behind us. No more Cole walking in on us. I’d learned from that mistake. “Me too.”
He smoothed his hand over the back of my hair. “It’s still surreal we’re here, not sneaking around.”
“True, but I’m glad we’re not. I love you too much to hide anymore.”
He slid his hands up and down my arms in slow, gentle sweeps, tickling every hair on my skin. A moan rumbled deep in his throat, like he got off on just touching me. “Want me to show you how much I love you?”
“Uh-huh.” I yanked off his T-shirt. His tousled hair fell in soft layers across the tips of his shoulders. So hot. His silver eyes glistened in the dim light as he reached for my belt and undid my jeans.
A hot wave of anticipation pooled between my legs. “Do you want to play?”
As he pressed his crotch against me, his erection grew harder and harder. He skimmed his hand over my chest, then tweaked my nipple through my T-shirt. A jolt of electricity zapped my core. Oh yeah. He licked his lips and my knees weakened. God, I had it bad for him.
Hot desire ignited in his eyes. “I like to play—you know I do. But tonight,we don’t need any toys. The only restraints we need are my hands to pin you against the bed. The only things I want to play with are your boobs. The only games we’ll be playing will involve me teasing you with my tongue, and fingers, and driving you over the edge. I just want you. In my arms. Making love.”
My heart melted. “You’re definitely a keeper.”
