Page 97 of Wicked Bonds
His hands remained on her hips, holding her against the wall as he pressed his groin into hers. They were both wearing jeans, which heightened the anticipation by delaying the inevitable connection.
Because Issac Wakefield never rushed.
No, he devoured.
Slowly. Thoroughly.Purposefully.
And tonight would be no exception.
Stas’s thighs clenched as he slowly released her neck to kiss a path up to her ear. “I want you naked and waiting for me on that bed, Aya. You have thirty seconds.”
She didn’t bother asking what she would be given for complying. Instead, she misted to the bedroom and ripped her shirt over her head. Her fingers traced the strap of her bra, her teeth snagging her lower lip as she pondered her options.
He’d said naked.
But defiance was often rewarded.
She left the bra alone and focused on her jeans instead, then slipped off her socks and crawled up onto the bed they’d temporarily claimed as their own.
With Balthazar gone, it sort of felt like they were house-sitting for him.
Stas relaxed into the pillows, her gaze on the door.
Then she began to count.
When thirty seconds came and went, she began to frown.
Then thirty seconds became a minute.
And a minute grew into two minutes.
Issac?
No reply.
She started to sit up as the door opened with her demon on the other side holding a glass of red wine.
Her brow furrowed as she fell back to her elbows. You went to grab a drink?
He didn’t respond, instead walking inside and quietly shutting the door behind him. The lock snapped with a click that reverberated down her spine. “That’s not naked, Aya,” he said casually, his alluring gaze taking in the black lace decorating her flesh.
“It’s much more fun when you remove my clothes,” she told him.
“Mmm,” he hummed noncommittally as he sauntered over to the nightstand beside her. He set the wine glass down, his eyes still roaming over her body.
She loved when he looked at her like that. It made her feel powerful, as though she could convince him to do anything in that moment without even trying.
But she also knew he valued control. He very rarely relinquished it in the bedroom, and his expression told her tonight would be no exception.
This was how he found emotional balance, how he took charge of his own feelings and gave his mind a break from the decision he inevitably needed to make.
“I sent a visual note to Caro, and I locked all the external doors. We shouldn’t be bothered for a bit.”
“Is this the part where you tell me no one will hear me scream?” she taunted.
“Oh, the entire island is going to hear you scream, love. Assuming I do my job right.”
“My parents might not like that.” A statement she’d never thought she’d say.
