Slowly, with just the sights and sounds of the room and the sensation of kissing and being saturated in sex.
A hedonistic wet dream.
Erotic art.
A perfect existence.
This is a life worth living, he marveled, his eyes opening to meet Leela’s gaze. And she’s a creature worth loving.
He kissed her with all the emotion building inside him, the realization of what they might have missed out on for all these millennia blossoming in his mind.
Perhaps this was why he’d chosen a “love all” approach over monogamy.
Because the one woman he was meant to be with had been stolen from him three thousand years ago.
He couldn’t say for sure.
So he devoured her mouth instead.
And their game began anew, their bodies making up for lost time as they reacquainted themselves in the most intimate of ways.
Through sex.
Animalistic passion.
Ignoring all the rest.
Just existing in this blissful moment of sensual harmony.
Creating new memories meant to last a lifetime.
Chapter27
Issac
Astasiya had spenta good portion of the night and early morning working on the wards while Issac had observed through her mind. Most of the ethereal charms were done; only the exterior was left.
Vera had helped them—after restoring Lucian’s memories, a task that had clearly exhausted her. However, Gabriel had soon arrived afterward, saying, “You can fill me in on where you’ve been while we work.”
The memory-manipulating Seraphim had sighed, clearly exhausted, but then she’d followed him up into the sky to explain everything about Osiris and Patreel.
Lucian had brought Alik and Jayson up to speed on Balthazar and Leela, as well as Osiris, leaving Issac to talk to Tristan. Which he’d done while keeping an eye on Astasiya in the sky.
“What do you intend to do about Mateo?” his progeny asked softly in the living area of Balthazar’s home. Issac had just finished brewing coffee for Aya but poured some into a cup for himself and one for Tristan.
He handed the latter to his progeny before settling into a chair beside the couch. “Lucian is still talking to him.”
“Yes, but after that?”
“I don’t know,” Issac admitted. “He betrayed all of us. But his intentions…”
“Were mostly in our favor,” Tristan finished for him. “Yes.”
They lapsed into thoughtful silence, sipping their coffee while thousands of unspoken words flowed between them. Their friendship spanned two centuries, allowing them to truly know each other, thus making conversation unnecessary.
Tristan would know Issac’s internal battle regarding how to respond to this situation because Mateo was part of their family. And not just by blood, but by choice. IssachadchosenMateo.
And he’d betrayed them all.
