Page 25 of Wicked Bonds
“You’ll have to ask him about that,” a female replied in a softer tone.
Balthazar’s eyes widened as he reached for the door handle, his expression and actions confirming he recognized the woman’s voice.
“Hmm,” Ezekiel hummed in response. “I’ll wait and see where this goes.”
“See where what goes?” Balthazar demanded, stepping inside without knocking or announcing himself. He took in the sight of Ezekiel speaking with a blonde woman and arched a brow. “What are you doing here?”
Chapter5
Issac
Several Minutes Earlier
Issac’s palmrested on Astasiya’s flat abdomen, her skin warm beneath his touch. They both lounged in a lazy silence filled with a myriad of unspoken words that they naturally understood without needing to utter them aloud.
Of course, it helped that they could speak via their bond.
But they both remained intrinsically silent, merely existing in the pleasure of their coexistence.
A beautiful moment of bliss and harmony.
They’d just witnessed the creation of a life, something Issac had never desired to see before. However, the experience had changed him in an irrevocable way.
He wondered what his future son or daughter would look like if he and Astasiya chose that path. It wouldn’t be now or even soon. And three hours ago, he would have addedneverto that thought.
Yet seeing the joy in Jayson’s and Elizabeth’s features had left him… curious.
Aya tilted her head back to meet his gaze, her green irises sparkling with understanding. He could sense her agreement in the shift of fate, the intrigue in her mind at what they could create together.
A baby Seraphim.
Would she have her mother’s elven chin? Those beautiful, long blonde strands? Or would it be a boy with sapphire eyes and a thick mane of dark hair? Maybe some stunning combination of them both.
He chuckled a little to himself, thinking about what his sister would say if she could hear these thoughts right now. Amelia would be overjoyed by the prospect and maybe a little starstruck that he would even consider such an avenue of exploration.
Aya lifted onto her elbow beside him, her soft hair falling over her bare shoulders as she gazed down at him.
She didn’t speak.
Because she didn’t have to.
He understood her on every level, which was how he knew exactly what she intended to do now.
His hand slipped to her hip, his body automatically reacting to her every move. Her thigh slid between his as she bent to kiss him, her lips whispering tender words of forever against his mouth.
So intuitive and perfect.
His sweet Seraphim.
His mate.
His Aya.
He drew his fingers up her side, skimming the swell of her breasts on his way up to her throat. She smiled as he palmed the back of her neck, then moaned as he took control and deepened their kiss.
Every touch and lick and stroke felt like the first time between them. All hot, consuming passion. A promise of intensity. A foundation of forever. She belonged to him in every way, just as he belonged to her. It fulfilled him on a level of incomprehension. Nothing else compared. Their relationship severed every boundary, broke every rule, and defied all expectations.
He adored her.
