They panted afterward, falling into a heap beside one another, their tongues dancing lazily as they kissed through the last vestiges of their joint ecstasy.
“You’re right,” she whispered, nuzzling his neck as her wing stretched out across his torso, claiming him. “I do prefer pancakes.”
His lips curled. “They’re the superior breakfast food.”
She nodded, her lips brushing his pulse. “You’re welcome to make them for me anytime.”
“How does every morning for eternity sound?”
“Like a challenge we’d both enjoy,” she admitted honestly. Because that would require them to be focused enough to make breakfast every day.
“Good thing I enjoy challenges,” he whispered, his palm pressing against her cheek as his thumb traced her jaw. “You’ll be my favorite one of them all. To pleasure. To hold. To fuck into eternity.” He grinned against her mouth. “I’ll never allow you to become bored.”
“I don’t think such a sensation is possible in your company, B.”
“I’ll endeavor to ensure you never even consider it, Lee,” he murmured, his mouth capturing hers in a searing kiss meant to seal them together forever.
For eternity.
For as long as they both shall live.
Which would be until the end of time.
Because Seraphim couldn’t die.
Thus, their souls were destined to dance together.
“Spread your legs, sweet vixen,” he hummed against her lips. “I have a vow to make between your thighs, and I intend to secure it with my tongue.”
Epilogue
Eliza
A Few Hours Earlier
The Elders leftLuc’s home about an hour ago. Eliza paced, waiting for the right minute to knock on the door.
She knew Luc had a lot on his mind between the attack, the videos of bodies falling from the sky going viral on the internet, and everything that had just happened with Stas, but Elizareallyneeded to talk to him.
He hated her and that was fine.
But he’d want to know this.
Hell, it might even convince him to like her a little. Because it certainly made her useful.
She glanced down at her fingertips, her lips twisting to the side.
Maybe it was a fluke.
Except Ezekiel had seen it, too.
Fuck, he’dexpectedit.
Death is coming, Skye had said.Death is coming.
It was Eliza she’d been talking about. And the deadly ability that had sprouted to life from her very hands.
That Seraphim had been right on top of her, about to kill her with that deadly sword—something she shouldn’t have been able to see but suddenly did.
