Page 125 of When We Fall: Part One
When Anthony and Marissa finally went to the third floor to bed, I gave Enzo a pointed look. He sighed and nodded for me to follow him.
Fox hadn’t followed. He simply walked upstairs and didn’t stop when Enzo called out to him.
“He’s mad, man. And for good reason. What the fuck?” I demanded as we stepped into the office.
“What the fuck to me? What the fuck to you? Why can’t we get through one fucking weekend? I needed this to go smoothly.” Enzo went to the bar and poured us both drinks.
“This isn’t our fault. I get Anthony is your father, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. I get you need to marry for your family traditions. Whatever. We ate shit on that one, Fox especially, but me? You know how I feel about having a kid, man. Were you even going to tell me you’d changed the plans?”
Enzo sighed and stared down at his glass. “I wanted to talk to you about it before my father brought it up. It was shit timing.” He downed his drink and poured another one.
“Shit timing? What the actual fuck?” I glared at him. “You were really going to do that? You already took Rosalie as your own, and then you were going to take the one thing I fucking needed? You’re supposed to be my best friend. You know what losing the baby did to me. You fucking know how much having my family means to me.” I shook my head at him.
“I know, Cole. I fucking know,” he said fiercely. “I just…”
“Got selfish,” I finished bitterly. “Because that’s what it is. You think she’s supposed to belong to you alone because you put a ring on her finger. You promised it wouldn’t be like that, but it sure as fuck looks like it will be. I’m not going along with that shit. I’m not. There ain’t fuck all in this world that’ll convince me to do it, either. So, respectfully, Enzo, go fuck yourself.” My chest heaved as I tried to control my anger. I slammed back my drink and backed away from him.
“Where are you going?” he asked, his voice wavering as he watched me walk to the door.
“I’m going to go find my girl and fuck her breathless and hope I can make a baby before you fucking ruin everything. If she leaves, it will be because of you, but I’ll be the guy doing whatever I can to keep her here.”
“So you’d get her pregnant to ruin her life?” he called out behind me.
“Having my kid wouldn’t ruin her life, dick, but having yours might, you controlling ass nozzle.” I didn’t wait for his response. I left the room and slammed the door behind me, then took the stairs two at a time to Rosalie’s room. I was disappointed when I got there to find her bed empty.
Sighing, I went to E’s room since he’d gone with her to find him sleeping alone, naked as the day he was born. I didn’t need two guesses to know how that had gone down. Next, I went to Fox’s room and opened the door. Rosalie was tangled around Fox’s naked body, him holding her tight.
I crept into the room and peeled my clothes off before carefully climbing into bed with them. As gently as I could, I spread her legs, desperate to be inside her. She mumbled something in her sleep as I pushed my cock through her folds and into her tight pussy. I managed a few deep, slow thrusts before her lashes fluttered, and she stared up at me.
“Rosebud,” I husked out. “I need you.”
She pulled me close, her lips meeting mine. I all but wept as I kissed her and thrust in and out of her with a soft groan. If she was letting me fuck her, then she wasn’t mad. At least at me.
“Me and you, remember? The baby?” I choked out. “Right? Tell me that hasn’t changed.”
“It’s not changed,” she answered back.
I slammed into her hard, beyond overjoyed at her answer. “Please. Can we do it now? Rosebud? Please?”
“Cole—”
“No.” I kissed her lips fiercely. “Don’t tell me no. Fuck. Please don’t tell me no.”
I picked up my pace, desperate to fill her pussy with my come in the hopes that one of these fucking times, it actually stuck and gave me the baby the world stole from us.
“Cole, easy,” Fox’s gruff voice called out as Rosalie whimpered. “You’re hurting her.”
Not wanting to stop while feeling like I was losing my mind, I moved faster. I needed to do this. Whatever the cost. Not only would we get our garden, but if she had my baby, she’d stay if shit went south. It was a selfish, dickish way to keep her. I hated myself for it, but I loved her beyond worlds and universes. There would never be anyone in this lifetime or the next hundred who could compare to her and the way I felt. She was it for me. If getting her knocked up meant I got to keep her, I’d do it without an ounce of remorse.
I was at that point in my life.
“Ah,” Rosalie cried out. “Slower. Please. Y-you’re hurting me.”
“Cole, enough,” Fox ground out.
I slammed into her once. Twice. Three times, each time making her cry out. Tears slipped from her eyes as she stared up at me.
I came hard, my body jerking with pleasure. Once my cock was empty, I sobbed softly and buried my face into her neck.
