“Shh and keep yer head down,” Myles said as he peeked out a side door.
I had no idea what was happening. Today had been difficult again, partially because I couldn’t get back to sleep after the confrontation with Vicky.
Then there was the fact that I wasn’t used to so many distractions when I was trying to work on my speech therapy.
I loved the guys, but…they were noisy and always poking at me.
Vicky had fought with everyone at some point. I’d tried to connect with her, but she was having none of it and lashed out every time.
Eddie had back-to-back meetings, so he wasn’t around to keep the chaos to a minimum. Then all at once, Vicky took off to a party, and the guys, minus Myles, left to help Nash with the soft relaunch of Volatile. Myles suddenly grabbed my hand and told me to follow him.
“Okay, let’s go. Keep yer head down,” he said again. He stayed low, pulling me along behind him.
We looked like two crazy burglars trying to make a mad escape. Myles gently opened the back door of the Shelby.
“Get in and lie down under the blanket,” he whispered. I glanced at him. “Hurry.”
This was insane, but I did as he said and crawled into the car and beneath the plaid blanket he had in the back. Myles closed the door just as quietly, then went around to the driver’s seat.
The muscle car roared to life, the rumble making me smile. Excitement for an adventure filled me.
“Ready?”
“Yes.”
“Alright then,” Myles said. “Stay quiet and don’t move. And fir god’s sake, never tell Mr. G we did this.”
Myles did love sneaking me out of places. It had become sort of our thing.
We drove slowly toward the gates. I didn’t have to see where we were going to know the lay of the driveway. We still needed to get past the guards at the gate that was like an iron wall.
“Hey guys, I’m gonna join the others at Volatile,” Myles yelled. “Ren is asleep, and I’ll be back in an hour or so.”
I heard the guards speaking, but couldn’t make out the words over the rumble. My heart lurched as the clang of the gates sounded, but soon we were moving again. I stayed perfectly still, not daring to breathe.
Myles turned up the music, and we drove for about five minutes before he spoke.
“Okay, we’re safe.”
Sitting up, I pushed the hair from my eyes. We were leaving the city. I looked behind us, but there was no entourage. We were the only people on the road.
Myles glanced at me in the mirror.
“Well, get up here. I’m not yer chauffeur,” he teased, giving me a wink.
There was nothing graceful about my climb over the seat, and I almost kicked Myles in the head twice.
“Geez, next time yer drivin’ and I’ll lay in the back. Yer dangerous,” he said, smiling at me.
I gave his arm a punch, and he immediately pouted and rubbed the spot.
“Where we…going?”
“You’ll see when we get there.”
“Is safe?”
Myles looked at me. “Snowflake, I wouldn’t take you anywhere that wasn’t safe. I just thought you could use a few minutes of quiet.”
He held out his hand, and I linked our fingers. “You….” I licked my lips, determined to speak better than I had during therapy. “You always…know.”
That delicious dimple formed as he gave me a devious smirk. “Aye, that’s because I know you.”
We drove along the winding road, listening to music with the windows cracked, letting in the cool night air. Trees zipped by with only the moon and the headlights to guide our way. It was perfect.
Myles slowed just before a large bend and pulled into a driveway that I would never have seen in a million years. The road was surprisingly well-kept for a dirt drive. We made our way over the rocky terrain for a couple of minutes before it opened onto a lookout.
The lights of Portland sparkled in the distance when Myles shut the car off. In the darkness, I could just make out the glowing red sign of Volatile.
“Wow,” I said.
“Come on,” Myles said, getting out.
He grabbed the blanket from the backseat and spread it out on the hood before helping me up. I loved that it was warm under my butt from the engine. Myles stood beside me, hip braced against the side of the car, both of us staring into the night.
“How you…place.” I held up my finger to stop him from answering and mouthed the words before trying again. “How did you…find…this…place?”
Myles smiled wide. “That was great,” he said, raising his hand to give me a high-five, and making me blush.
“You’re…crazy,” I said, smacking his hand.
“Crazy about you,” Myles said softly.
Heat spread throughout my body, and I bit my lip.
“One day to punish me, I don’t remember for what, Owen drove up into the mountains as high as he could using access roads. Then he kicked me out of the truck. He told me not to be so stupid next time and to think on what I’d done as I walk back.”
I grabbed his hand and kissed his knuckles. I wished there were a way to bring someone back from the dead so that you could torture and kill them again. Owen deserved to die over and over for all the pain he’d caused.
“He left me with a bottle of water and nothin’ else. I saw a few cars, but no one stopped, and I was bone tired when I stumbled on this place. There used to be a small sign indicating the lookout, but it rotted away and was never fixed. Not that I mind. Makes it more private.”
Myles pointed to a massive boulder off to the side. “I slept against that rock. Cried. Hated meself for cryin’ and stared out at the city. It became me safe space. Whenever I need to be alone, this is where I come.”
He turned and looked at me, sending shivers racing along my spine. The full moon made his amber eyes glow in the dark.
“The thing is…I’m no longer alone. Now, I can’t picture being here without ya,” he said, thumb grazing my cheek. “Yer so beautiful.” I pressed into his hand and turned to kiss his palm.
It felt like forever since it had just been me and Myles.
It wasn’t that I didn’t love all my guys and want them around, but I missed having alone time.
The things that led to us falling in love and seeing each other in a shining new light.
The time I spent listening as Blake played his guitar.
Debating something ludicrous with Theo. Walking in the wilderness with Liam.
Arguing until I was blue in the face with Nash, and feeling at peace as Myles did something entirely too sweet, like hand-feeding me dinner.
His touch calmed me. It soothed the parts that wanted to race out of control and worried far too much. I cupped his face, falling in love with him all over again, with just the look in his eyes.
“You are…” I licked my lips. “My rock…in…the storm.” Kissing him softly, I sighed. “I love you,” I said.
He smiled against my lips.
“I love ya more, Snowflake.”
We kissed again, more insistent this time. My body was overheating despite the cool, fall night. I moaned into his mouth as he slipped his hand under the warmth of my hoodie to touch my skin.
“I…want…you,” I whispered.
“Right now?”
“Right now.”
MYLES
“Right now,” Ren said.
Grabbing her leg, I turned her so I could step between her thighs. “Ya have me, Snowflake. Ya always have me,” I said, slowly dropping to my knees.
She watched as I rested my hands on her legs and ran them up, stopping at the waistband of her jeans.
“Move your hoodie a little,” I said, keeping my voice low.
She did, revealing the strip of skin just above the denim that made my mouth water. The gem of her belly button ring sparkled in the night as I leaned in and kissed Ren there before reaching up to open her jeans. The teeth of the zipper parted with a quiet rasp that made her shiver.
“Lift your hips for me.”
Ren obeyed without question.
My knuckles brushed her skin deliberately, teasing as I stripped her. I dropped the denim to the ground and kissed just above her knee.
Ren sucked in a shuddering breath that made me smirk. She was left in nothing but my hoodie and a pair of thin, damp panties that clung to her, and made my mouth water.
“Jesus, Snowflake.”
She bit her lip as I leaned in and licked the inside of her thigh. Ren’s legs parted without me asking, but I spread her a little wider. Fuck she drove me wild. I was aching to be inside of her.
I ran my nose up the seam of her panties, feeling the heat of her even through the fabric. Ren gasped and wiggled on the hood.
Hooking my fingers in the waistband, I slid them down, dragging them past her sweet pussy until she was bare to the night air.
And to me.
Ren glowed in the moonlight, and just like our first time, I committed this moment to memory. The way her chest rose as she panted and the way her thighs trembled when I didn’t move fast enough made it nearly impossible to look away.
Pulling her to the edge of the hood, she whimpered as I buried my face between her legs.
Ren cried out…loud, a little broken, but all mine.
I ate her out like she was the only meal I would ever have again. Slow at first, savoring every inch. Then I pushed my tongue deeper. Rougher. I lifted her hips as she bucked up against my mouth and sucked harder.
“Myles,” she gasped. “Fuck.”
Ren clutched the edge of the hood with one hand and slid the other into my hair. I let myself drown in her. Her thighs locked around my head, and she moaned so loud it echoed off the trees.
Snowflake was perfect.
When I slid two fingers inside her and pressed them up, finding her G-spot…she shattered.
Head thrown back. Mouth wide open. A cry tore from her chest like she was being ripped apart and rebuilt all at once.
That sound…I’d never forget that sound. I caused that. I made her feel like that. Ren was mine.
Her legs trembled as I pulled back, my mouth wet, chest heaving like I’d just run a mile. She looked wrecked. Her hair was all over the place, and she was…stunning.
And still alive. Still here.
My heart cracked open.
She could’ve died.
That night that her limo flipped off the road…I’d never get the memory out of my head. The panic when I woke up and remembered how close I had come to losing her. How impossibly still her body had been lying in the hospital bed.
For a moment, I thought the world had ended, that I had ended.
I’d stood outside the hospital room, begging whatever higher power was listening to give her back. Not to take her. Not to call his angel home. And now…here she was. Half-naked, perched on my car like temptation itself. Heart pounding. Legs open. Eyes heavy. Body marked by my mouth.
I didn’t deserve this moment. But I was taking it anyway.
Unzipping my jeans, my cock sprang free, hard and ready. I loved how her eyes locked onto me. How they followed my hand as I stroked myself. How she licked her lips.
“Ya fucking drive me crazy,” I said, teasing my cock up and down her pussy.
“Myles…please.” My name had never sounded so sweet.
I lined up and slid into her heat. Ren whimpered as I pressed her legs out into a wider vee and stared down at where her body and mine connected.
“Tell me yer mine,” I said, voice shaking.
“I’m…yours.”
I pushed in a little more.
“Again,” I ordered.
“I’m…yours,” Ren panted and then moaned.
I gritted my teeth and sank deeper.
“Again.”
“Fuck, Myles…I’m yours.”
“That’s fuckin’ right ya are,” I growled, my fingers pressing into her soft skin. Inch by inch, I moved deeper until I bottomed out, and every nerve ending in my body was lit on fire.
She felt like home, like my fucking salvation.
I held her hips tight and started to move. Slow at first, watching her face and how she responded. The hoodie slid up a little more, and she started playing with her nipples. The fact that I could just make out what she was doing pushed the insanity I felt higher.
Fuck.
“Touch yerself for me. I want to watch,” I said, barely holding it together. When she looked up at me and slipped a hand between her thighs, I almost lost control completely. Ren’s fingers brushed against my aching shaft as she rubbed at her clit. Her muscles squeezed so tight that it made me gasp.
I lost the rhythm. Lost everything. And just fucked her.
Harder. Deeper. Desperate. Every stroke sent a surge through my body.
Ren’s breath came in gasps. Reaching up, she grabbed the front of my sweatshirt and pulled me down on top of her.
“Don’t stop,” she whispered. “Please…don’t stop.”
“Never,” I growled. “I’ll never stop loving you. Never stop needing you.”
The car rocked with every thrust. Her thighs locked tighter around me, and I felt that telltale flutter that told me she was close.
“I thought I lost ya,” I murmured. “That night…I thought it was over. My whole fucking life. I can’t live without ya, Snowflake.”
I sucked on her neck right over her racing pulse.
“I’m…here,” she whispered, holding me tighter.
I kissed her, our tongues battling. Lips bruising. Our movements were desperate and needy. I didn’t know that I was crying until our tears mixed, the salty taste filling my mouth.
“I can’t live without ya,” I said again, thrusting harder. “I won’t.”
Ren’s body convulsed around me, and I knew she was lost to the pleasure. Her cries tore through the night as she came, and her whole body trembled.
The feel of her coming undone broke me. I drove into her one last time and came hard, releasing deep inside her, shaking with the force.
We rode the waves of our shared climax until we settled and clung to each other. Breathing hard and our hearts pounding in sync.
Minutes passed. Neither of us moved.
Finally, I leaned my forehead against hers.
“Ya saved me,” I whispered.
She smiled, the corner of her mouth pulling up.
“No…you saved…me.”
