“Lies. Please, Tyler.”

With a huff, Tyler forced himself off the bed and shut the light out.

“Begone day.”

He got into bed. Danny laid his arm across Tyler’s waist.

Fuck that feels good.

“I didn’t ruin your night, did I?”

Tyler took Danny’s hand and kissed it. “Of course you didn’t. I’m really honoured that you told me.”

Danny’s breath swept over the back of Tyler’s neck.

“What do you think?”

Tyler had been dreading this question. “Honestly?”

“Obviously.”

“I can totally understand where you’re coming from. You know in your heart of hearts that isn’t the reason you can’t make your mind up though.”

Danny’s body froze. “Meaning?”

“You have a fear of failure, Danny. Like anyone would have. More so. But I think the real reason is you’re scared of the freedom.”

Danny unfurled and stared up at the ceiling. “Now you’re not making any sense so you’ll have to explain.”

Tyler faced him. “There’s a certain comfort in hating your job. I know, I had it for the last two positions. Coming to Pleasure Seekers, I vowed that if I didn’t really enjoy it again, I would have to stop and find something completely different. Guess what, I fucking love it.”

In the half light, he saw that grin. “I can tell. See what you’ve done with Amanda.”

“I want that for you, babe. A business can be a wonderful thing too. What about Bruce? He’s spent his whole life doing whathe loves and can retire with a decent payout. Look at those gorgeous drawers over there.”

Tyler stared at them. Even in the dim room they seemed to shine. Or he was turning into a romantic fool.

“You have talent. Don’t waste it.”

Danny seemed lost in thought.

Suddenly Tyler’s phone began to ring. He grabbed it.

“Deborah,” he said. “Trust my sister to ruin a moment.”

He pressed Answer.

“Hi, sis.”

She hated it when he called her that.

“Tyler. Mum has told me you’d like to bring a guest.”

Here we go.

“That’s right.”

She cleared her throat. “Then he will be more than welcome.”
