Tyler unlocked the screen and handed it over. Normally he wouldn’t allow anyone access to the device that he regarded as his inner sanctum.

“One second, mate,” Danny said to the bus driver as his fingers swept over the touchscreen. He was amazingly dexterous for someone with such huge hands.

Tyler’s cock twitched. A regular reaction when Danny was in close proximity.

“There,” Danny said, handing the mobile back to Tyler. “Drop me a message.”

Without waiting for a reply, he got onto the bus.

Before the bus driver closed the doors, Danny glanced back at Tyler. “I always follow up on my offers. If they’re accepted.”

With a swish, the bus swallowed Danny and set off on its merry way. Tyler watched until it had disappeared from view.

As soon as the coast was clear, he swiped through his contact list. There it was. A new entry.

Tyler parked up outside the flat. He couldn’t quite believe he was moving into somewhere he’d not even vetted. Again. That hadn’t paid off with his previous hellhole. Still, he didn’t have Eddie and Scott down as people who would live in squalor. Plus, the previous tenant had been an interior designer. Hopefully, he might have brought home some of his work with him.

He jumped out of his Mercedes. Instantly he heard the seagulls. He was really living in Brighton now.

The street must have once been a hive of activity. Old Edwardian boarding houses lined up like soldiers. They’d mostly been converted to flats, judging by all the doorbells on them.

On the back seat were his two suitcases. The rest of his worldly possessions were still in store in Norwich, where he’d moved from. He hoped he’d be able to fit them in here. What if his new flatmates were really strict? Stupidly, he hadn’t asked any useful questions.

His worries vanished when he turned around to be greeted by Scott and Eddie coming out of the building. Scott looked fit to burst.

“Hello, gorgeous,” Scott said. “How exciting is this? We hadn’t even set eyes on each other this time last week.”

“It’s an act of mercy on your part,” Tyler said. “When I left, Alistair had a load of his mates round. They were just staring into space and going on about how good the shit they’d taken last night was. I’ve no idea where he gets his money from.”

Eddie leapt forward and took one of his cases.

“Thanks,” Tyler said.

“Anything else?” Scott asked.

Tyler popped the boot on the car. “There’s an airbed in there if you don’t mind. It’ll tide me over until I can order a bed.”

Scott retrieved the box and pump Tyler had bought on the way over. “I’ve never had sex on an airbed. I suppose you’d have to be quite restrained. I did it on a sunbed in Ibiza once but that was more static. Phew.”

“Thank you, Scott,” Eddie said. “Nice car, mate. Why though?”

Tyler frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Don’t you bus it and Uber it like the rest of us? Where do you even keep it?”

“I rent a garage. It’s near my old place so I’ll take it back in a bit.”
