Danny looked around. “You know, you could do amazing things with this room. I know a guy who sells restored furniture. I went to see him today. He’s got some great pieces in.”

“You’ll have to show me. Or not. I can go on my own. I know this is purely sex.”

Tyler’s words came out in a total jumble. He cringed at how stupid he’d sounded.

“I’ll give you the address,” Danny said quickly.

“Thanks. I’ll have to do something special. Once you’ve seen the rest of the flat, you’ll understand why.”

Danny sighed. “Must be nice to have your own place.”

“Have you always lived at home?”

“Mostly. A few years away. It’s a long, boring story.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Tyler said, stroking Danny’s arm.

Tyler frowned. He didn’t dare ask. It would be just like him to scare off the hottest man he’d ever bedded. No chance. He would keep his mouth firmly zipped.

“Anyway,” Danny said. “I’m beginning to think it’s time I got my own place.”

“How old are you?”

“Twenty-eight. You?”

“Thirty-two.”

Danny pinched Tyler’s hip. “I like an older man.”

Tyler squirmed out of his reach. “Not that much older, thank you.”

“Come here,” Danny said. He made a grab for Tyler and pulled him close. Their bodies pressed together. “How about you use that thing on me now?”

By the time he got home, it had gone ten. He let himself in the door. The television was still blaring in the lounge.

“Danny?”

He went through to find his mother on her own.

“Where is everyone?”

“Your father took them for last orders at the pub,” she replied. “I think he was waiting for you.”

Danny sank down on the other end of the sofa.

“I’ll go next time,” he replied.

His mother stared at him. “What have you been up to? You’ve been gone all day.”

Danny kicked off his trainers and curled up. “I went to see Bruce.”

“Until this time?”

There had never been any point in lying to her. She had always had a knack for uncovering his and his siblings’ plots. Ever since they’d been children.
