Page 79 of The Fake Husband Deal
Noah covered himself, leaning against me under the sheets. “What did you think you were going to find here? Us braiding each other’s hair? Painting toenails?”
“Why does it smell like sex in here?” Adam grumbled.
Lex, Emery, and River stared at him.
“Oh…oh! Ew. I’m leaving.”
River grabbed Adam’s arm to stop him.
Lex raised his hand. “I’m just going to put this out there. Lior, I’m glad my working relationship with the museum is through Charlie. Thanks for the chest visual, but?—”
“Is it a nice chest, right?” Emery asked.
Lex stared at his fiancé, his mouth hanging open before he recovered. “Anyway. I’m happy to work with Charlie, and this won’t change our relationship with VSE. That’s all.”
“And you better get dressed because we have a game of soccer outside in half an hour,” River said.
“Soccer?” I asked.
Adam sneered. “Yeah, it’s a friendly game, but the stakes are high. We all had to put some money into it. There will be bets, and the winning team gets to pick the charity the money goes to. Don’t worry. We can run you through the rules of the game quickly so you won’t get lost.”
“Sure, thanks.”
They turned to leave, but then Adam turned back around. “I’m still mad as fuck at what you’ve done, but…” He waved at our covered junk. “I guess I can try to get my head around it. Just apologize to Victoria and mean it.”
“Of course,” Noah said straight away. “I’ll speak to her. Adam, I really didn’t mean for it all to come out like this.”
Adam stared at Noah, but I couldn’t read him.
“Just get dressed. I can’t wait to kick your ass at soccer.”
When they closed the door behind them, Noah straddled me, looking down at our cocks between us. He licked his lips suggestively.
“No,” I said, placing a finger under his chin for him to look at my face. “We’re in hot water with your family. We’re getting dressed, and then we’re going to kick your brother’s ass on the soccer field.”
He raised his brows. “You’re confident.”
I kissed the tip of his nose. “Baby, you’re not the only one with European blood in your veins. I actually went to school in Europe and played soccer for eight years throughout high school.”
He laughed and jumped off my lap. “Then what are we waiting for? We have a game to win and money to raise for the Star Finders Youth Network.”
The bride’s and groom’s families were all under a gazebo set up with tables, chairs, and drinks. There were more people than I expected.
All eyes were on us as we approached.
Noah’s mom walked right over to us. “We still need to talk, Noah James Spencer, but I don’t want to ruin your brother’s weekend. Victoria has put a lot of work into organizing it, and she deserves to have a good time.”
Noah gave his mom a kiss on her cheek. “I’m so sorry, Mãe. I know I messed up, but please don’t be mad at me. I can fix it.”
“I’m not mad, Noah, estou desapontada.”
“It says something when you can upset your mother in two languages,” Noah said, and I groaned. He really did know how to poke a bear.
“Mrs. Spencer,” I said, holding my hand out. She took it with hesitance. “I’m also very sorry about the current situation. We…got carried away and didn’t think of the consequences. I promise I have the best intentions with your son. I just want to make him happy.” I turned my gaze to Noah and smiled. I wasn’t lying there. “I hope we have a chance to get to know each other, and I’d love to introduce you to my mother at some point.”
“I would very much love that. Lior, is it?”
I nodded.
