Page 66 of The Fake Husband Deal
“Hmm, you look good there.”
“Focus, Noah Spencer.”
He rolled his eyes. “How can I when you’re inches away from my…inches…”
“You’ll live.” I held his hands and took a deep breath. “I need you to know that you have the option to not tell your family about us.”
“How can I hide from them for the next year? I don’t want to lie to them, but pretending this hasn’t happened is freaking me out.”
“That’s okay. I just wanted to remind you that you have options. I hate that you’re stuck in this mess.”
Noah let go of my hands to run his fingers through my hair. I closed my eyes, enjoying the smell of his cologne and the feel of his fingers on my scalp.
“I’m so fucking horny for you all the time, Lior. How do I make it stop?”
“I wish I knew.”
I opened my eyes to find his staring back at me, smoldering with heat. How easy would it be to give in? But then, where would we stop? I knew I couldn’t. I’d had one small taste of Noah, and it had landed me in a fake marriage. If I had more, I would lose my heart to him and get it back broken.
Or would I? What real reason did I have? We had a whole year. Could we make something of it? Was I ready to risk it all for something real with Noah?
He threw himself on the bed with a groan. “Let’s grab dinner.”
“Yeah. Let’s do that.”
We didn’t talk about our marriage, my business, or his family again until we were back in the room, brushing our teeth.
“We should probably take our wedding bands off,” he said, holding his hand up. There was nothing special about the band. It was made out of gold and unpretentious, but it still glistened in the light of the room. He took it off and placed it in a small, zipped pouch inside his toiletry bag.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
My hand felt immediately naked when I took the ring off, and there was even a tan line. He took my band to keep them together.
It dawned on me that this was the first time I’d taken my wedding band off since our wedding day.
Noah gasped. “When did that happen?” He traced the white mark around my finger.
“Don’t know. Maybe I caught the sun?”
His eyes met mine. “Is it weird that I like it?”
I wanted to say no, it wasn’t, but the swirl of feelings inside me stopped me from replying.
“It’s weird,” he declared with a chuckle and went back to the room, tucking himself under the bedsheets.
“You better not be naked,” I said, turning the lights out.
“Why don’t you come over and check?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
I didn’t know if I was disappointed or relieved to find him in a T-shirt and underwear.
He turned to face the wall. “I like being the little spoon. Just so you know.”
I pulled the sheets up to my neck. My dick was rock-hard and more than willing to break all the rules.
Sweet relief came when I heard soft snores from the man beside me moments later. I was reaching my breaking point, and if Noah had pushed an inch, I’d have given him everything.
Sleeping in the same bed and no sex? We had the most real marriage out there. It was comical that we had to prove it.
