Page 39 of The Baby Contract
My name off her sweet lips was-
Magical.
"Theo- "Millie groaned, pushing her hips closer to mine. "Maybe we should go? It's at least been a few hours."
I chuckled, giving into Millie's sweet little condensing nature. I thrust deep inside of her again, a small smile playing at her lips. "You are a confusing woman, mate. You tell me you want to go home but yet- "
I thrust again. "You are practically begging for my cock."
Millie's cheeks lit up in a rosy blush. "I'm sure that's the hormones."
"The hormones- "I snaked my hand up her sides slowly to her neck. "Or the fact that you love fucking your Alpha?"
I stuck my nose in the crook of her neck. "Orion said you were a bad girl- "I whispered. "But you are not bad, you're naughty, baby girl."
Millie let out a little laugh. "Hmm. I'm sure he told you all about me."
"Not as much as I want to know- "I moaned, as I licked Millie's exposed neck, making her moan slightly. "He did say you needed to be tamed."
"Tamed?"
I moaned in response, sucking on the spot between Millie's neck and collar bone. "I know he didn't mean it in this way- "I sucked harder. "But what other way would I tame a beautiful she-wolf like you? Other than make her my Luna?"
"Theo- "she gasped, feeling my canines trail her soft spot. Pleasure racked both of our bodies at the intimate contact.
My wolf made his presence known as he nipped at Millie's sweet spot, making her wiggle underneath us. His hair sprouted over my body, eager to meet his mate and to make her ours-
Forever.
My canines extended, dancing on the perfect spot to claim his she-wolf. Millie's little hands flocked to trail my abs, her hips buckling up to make me slip inside of her deeper, desperate for us to be connected in every way possible.
That's when Ember's mark burned on my neck. Her mark was evident now, pounding and on fire.
I groaned, quickly shaking off the burning feeling. That would go away soon, as soon as I marked Millie as mine, and she marked me as hers.
Millie didn't notice, her body hot with readiness. I shook my head, shaking off the sensation before going back to sucking her sensitive spot.
I lowered my canines over the perfect spot, ready to plunge them into her neck-
"Fuck!" My hand flew up to cover Ember's mark. It burned like flames each time I tried to mark Millie, and with each time I got closer to finally doing it, it paralyzed me more. A bile rose in my throat, making it burn with intensity.
Millie sat up on her elbows quickly when she noticed my pain. "I'm- "she breathed. "I'm sorry, Theo. I got carried away- "
I gripped my mark harshly, praying to the moon goddess that Ember's bite would stop throbbing. "It's not you- "I clenched my teeth in pain. "It's me."
"I can't mark you- "
I closed my eyes painfully. "Ahh!" I seethed. Images of Ember flashed inside my mind. I saw flashes of the moments I spent with her. Her smile, her laugh, her voice...
"Shit- "I panted, the pain slowly leaving my body as time passed with my canines away from Millie's neck. I gripped the back of the seat, waiting for the flames to extinguish themselves.
I snapped out of it when Millie's hand sweetly gripped my arm. "Theo?" she hummed. "Are you alright?" her brown eyes were large with worry. "Maybe we should call someone."
Her sparkling eyes immediately made the pain disappear just as fast as it came on. Her touch sent familiar, comforting sparks up my arm.
"No- "I took a deep breath. "I'm fine. I just- "
Millie gripped me gently, stopping me. "It's okay, Theo. I understand it's not easy."
I furrowed my brows. "Millie, I want you. I want to mark you but- "
"I know- "Millie smiled at me with sympathy. "And it's okay. It's getting late anyway. I'm getting a little sleepy."
I opened my mouth to say something, only to find Millie pulling her shirt back over her breasts and reaching over the console to find her panties.
The drive home was torture. I squeezed Millie's thigh all the way home, in some way, using it to tell Millie that I was sorry, and I still wanted her. She seemed to understand, shooting me little smiles from the passenger seat.
Why couldn't I mark Millie? The burning sensation that reminded me of my bond with Ember flared up at even the thought of marking Millie. In a way, it was like it was scolding me for what I had tried to do.
I needed to speak with the elders about this right away.
"It's alright," she reassured me as she patted my hand, which was leaving a nice red handprint on her skin.
Subconsciously, I wanted to make sure she was still there, still with me.
When we arrived at home, Millie had clocked out with a hand on her bump and one on the window cushioning her head as she slept. I was careful to lift her out of the seat and into my arms, being cautious of the noise we were making to not wake any of our pack members up.
The house, along with the suite, was dark and quiet. I slowly closed the door to the room, setting Millie gently in the middle, careful not to wake her. I climbed in beside her, tucking the covers over the top of our bodies.
"Good night, mate," I said as I kissed her forehead gently. My heart ached at the sight of her pale skin, her perfect bump, and her snoring.
"I love you," I whispered. "I love you, Millie Rose."
~
I don't think I slept a minute. I was still shocked about what happened last night, and my mind wandered with a million possibities.
Was Ember still alive like Boris said? Or was this common for those who break their bonds from their deceased mates?
Second chances weren't common for our kind, so maybe this was just part of the process of claiming a new mate.
At least, that's what I wanted to believe.
Millie groaned against my chest, rolling over onto her back as the birds chirped loudly through the window.
Her brown eyes fluttered open, a slight scowl on her lips. "Oh no- "
She flew out of the bed, her hand on her belly. "Mate?" I rushed out of bed to her side. Millie fell on her knees next to the toilet before puking.
I bent down beside her, rubbing her back comfortingly. I wet a washcloth next to the sink before leaning down to place it on Millie's forehead.
Millie chuckled slightly as she leaned back on the bathtub. "Morning sickness has not been my friend. Pregnancy is killing me."
I rubbed my hand over her tummy. The babies jumped happily at our mixed scents. Millie looked up at me with tired but sweet eyes as she admired our shared connection.
Days passed since that mysterious night.
The good thing was that the days I spent sleeping in my office chair were over. Millie and I had been sleeping together, in more ways than one, every night.
Mom, Aspen, and Ingrid had been hard at work at the nursery, making everything perfect for our soon-to-be arrivals. Millie had joined them as well, but her pregnancy hindered her from helping much.
Aspen told me that Millie had tried to help with arranging the furniture, but she would get worn out easily. So, they insisted that she sit and relax, managing from a distance.
I even made a long overdue trip to the pack tattoo artist with my newfound energy. Benji, who had done all of my previous tattoos, was quite shocked to see me again.
"Alpha Stormblade!" He bowed, a large smile on his face. "I didn't expect to see you here. Of course, it's always a pleasure but I thought your tattoo days were over!"
He was right. When Ember died, I stopped with the tattoos. I couldn't even think about caring for myself, let alone thinking about what ink I wanted on my skin.
Benji pulled his chair up as I sat down on the table. "Well, what are we thinking about doing today, Alpha?" He asked, sterilizing his needle.
"A rose," I said, pulling my sleeve up.
Benji nodded, inspecting his canvas. "We can do a rose starting here-" he pointed to the back of my hand. "And have it trail up your arm."
"I trust you, Benji." I nodded. "You've never let me down."
Millie and I had even started attending the family dinners together.
"This time, everyone better be on their best behavior," Mom scolded, placing a steaming hot casserole dish full of potatoes in the middle of the table. "Especially you two- "
"Hey! What did I do?" Aspen gasped, her hands on her hips. "Theo was the one who started it."
I rolled my eyes, helping Mom get some of her dishes out of the oven. "I didn't say anything."
"Look-"Mom pointed at Aspen. "Tonight is about Theo and Millie, so no side comments, Aspen Stormblade."
"Isn't every night about Theo?" Aspen smirked. "Let's not act like we can't hear them doing the nasty almost every night."
Mom shook her head. "Theo and Millie are getting along quite well, and we are happy for them- "
"Yeah, quite well." Aspen laughed. "Quite, quite, well. A little too well."
"Would you stop picking on your brother?" Mom scolded. "You are about to be eighteen in a few days and could meet your mate soon."
"Speaking of that- "Aspen perked up. "Boris said he would take me to the mall the other day and got busy, I'm going to see if he can take me tonight."
"Yeah, I can." Boris pushed the door open with Millie by his side, his werewolf hearing catching our conversation outside of the door.
"Well, that's very nice of you, Boris," Mom smiled, going to greet Millie with a big hug. "Hi, sweetheart."
"Millie, Theo- "she slowly pulled away from the hug. "I am so pleased that you wanted to share this moment with us."
Boris leaned back in his chair. "I think they will both be boys."
Aspen looked at Millie's belly as she rubbed her chin, making us all laugh. "I don't know-"she tapped her foot. "I'm sensing girls."
"Come on- "Boris chuckled. "Do you really think Alpha could be a girl Dad?"
"Yeah, that is true." Aspen nodded at Boris. "He's not very good with women."
I groaned, and Millie laughed. "Well, Mom and I are just happy to be grandparents." Dad chimed in with a wink.
"I have the cake right here- "Mom held up the tray. "The kitchen staff were ecstatic when I handed the envelope. They were honored to be the first to know."
"That is true- "Dad urged Mom to sit next to him. "You pretty much made their lives. I think everyone in the pack house could hear the squealing when they opened the envelope."
"What do you want it to be, Millie?" Aspen asked, scooting her chair so she was practically on top of my mate.
My family had figured out that something was going on between Millie and me, and I didn't have to tell them she was my mate. They knew.
I squeezed Millie's hand under the table, encouraging her to think about our future together. To remind her that she was a part of my, of our, lives.
"It doesn't matter to me." Millie rubbed her belly. "Just as long as they're healthy and happy."
"Alright, kids- "Mom clapped, putting the knife before us. "Let me get my phone so I can take a video."
I put my hand on Millie's as we held the knife together over the cake, our hearts beating with anticipation. "Okay- "Mom beamed, holding her phone up. "Oh, Theo. You got a new tattoo."
Millie's eyes trailed down to where my moms were. "A rose?"
I smiled at my mate proudly, stroking a piece of her stray hair behind her ear. "Of course, it is my favorite scent after all."
Millie looked at me shyly through her long lashes. She was breathtaking. Her face was glowing with happiness, joy, and contentment. It made me and my wolf very happy, so much so that I almost forgot about the cake.
"Ready?"
Millie's face brightened as she turned back to the brightly blue and pink decorated cake. We cut into the cake together, everyone holding their breath until they saw-
Blue and Pink.
