Page 32 of The Baby Contract
Last night was one of the best nights of sleep I have had in a while.
If not, it's the best I've had in my whole life.
I was wholly satisfied in so many ways. Millie was absolutely everything I had imagined and more. The way she tasted, how she felt wrapped around my cock, her sweet little moans...
And then, she started dirty talking, calling me an Alpha. That set me over the edge.
I knew Millie felt satisfied, too, based on the little snores she was emitting from her place next to me in bed.
She looked adorable, her face pressed into my chest as she slept soundly. I adjusted the blankets around us, stroking Millie's back under the comforters.
My wolf was even silent, pleasing himself with the thoughts of Millie's naked body. He wanted desperately to go and work on his nest today. He loved thinking about her bump.
As I was about to drift off again, something started vibrating on the nightstand. What the hell was that?
My phone.
Millie stirred at the noise as I quickly turned to snatch it off the nightstand. Who dared to bother me right now?
I blinked, clearing my sleepy vision. It was Boris. Of course, he had to ruin my moment with Millie.
"Hello?" I answered groggily.
"Um, hello?" Boris sassily groaned from the other side. "Where the hell are you?"
"And-why the fuck do you sound like you just woke up? It's noon!"
I moved the phone from my ear in response to his loud yelling. "What do you want, Boris? This better be important, I'm busy."
"Better be import-" Boris he imitated me, exasperated. "Alpha, you've been gone for three days! That's very unlike you! And, where the hell is Millie?"
I looked over my shoulder to see Millie now facing the other way on the bed, the blankets pulled up over her head. "She's with me, don't worry about it."
"Don't worry-"he imitated again. "Of course I'm worried! You just took Millie and ran off?"
I sighed, clearing my throat. "I didn't run off, Boris. And I can do what I want with her; that's not up to you. She's mine."
"She's yours- "he imitated me again in disbelief. "What has gotten into you?"
Boris groaned loudly on the other side of the phone. "I swear you I should send you to see a therapist. You are making absolutely no sense, Alpha!"
"Are we done?" I sighed, eager to get back to the sweet little creature next to me.
"Done-"Boris spat again. I could imagine him crazy at this point, tugging his hair through his hands. "No! You need to answer me- "
"Is my pack in danger in any way?" I blurted out.
"No-"Boris answered quickly. "But- "
"Great. Then, this conversation is over. Bye, Boris."
"Alpha- "Boris started before I hung up the phone, cutting him off.
I sighed, laying my phone on the nightstand. Millie had fallen back asleep now, her little strands of hair poking out from the blanket. My heart swelled in pride for how much I was able to satisfy Millie and how tired I made her.
I decided to take the opportunity to jump out of bed and get started on breakfast. Millie had fallen asleep before we could eat dinner, and I don't think either of us minded. But I'm sure she would be starving when she woke up.
I worked on making a little bit of everything, not knowing exactly what Millie was in the mood for. I decided to prepare some French toast, waffles, toast, sausages, eggs, and a tray of fresh fruit.
"Oh- "Millie's sweet, surprised voice echoed.
She was in the doorway, now fully clothed in a pair of long pajamas, much different than how we slept last night.
It made my wolf mad that she had covered up because a piece of him loved savoring Millie's delectable curves, even if it was just with his eyes.
He felt that she should never hide from him.
I finished flipping a piece of french toast before turning to see Millie's face bright red, staring straight at my elongated cock. "Uh-"she quickly looked away. "Sorry, Alpha."
"Good morning, baby girl-"I turned around, putting a plate of French toast on the counter. "What are you sorry about?"
Millie scratched the back of her neck nervously. Her braid was a bit wild, strands of hair poking out in every direction. She looked cute when she was freshly fucked.
She blushed profusely as her eyes flickered to my cock again. "Am I making you uncomfortable?" I asked, "I figured that you wouldn't mind since- "
"Oh no- "Millie said quickly, sitting down at the counter. "I was just surprised to see you like that."
Millie looked nervous, and I wasn't sure why. She turned her gaze away from me, staring straight down at her plate.
"I figured you would be hungry," I smiled, placing the rest of the food in front of her. "After the long day, we had yesterday." I purred, shooting her a seductive wink.
Millie nodded, her cheeks rosy red. I walked over to her, eager to soothe her discomfort. I pushed her stray strands of hair back softly before leaning down to kiss her tummy.
"Good morning, babies." I rubbed Millie's tummy gently.
After, I went to meet Millie's lips, but she moved, making my kiss land on her cheek instead. What was that all about? We just had the most mind-blowing sex less than twenty-four hours ago, so what changed?
She didn't mind kissing me last night.
"Sorry- "Millie's eyes fluttered to the floor in embarrassment.
A million thoughts were racing through my mind at her rejection. Did she regret what we did last night?
"Did I hurt you last night?" I rushed out, searching for her eyes. "I know I was being quite rough. If I did, I didn't mean to."
Millie shook her head quickly. "No, um- "she adverted my heavy, intense gaze. "It was fine- "
"It was great, actually." She quickly confessed as she played with her fingers nervously in her lap.
My wolf became quite excited at Millie's approval of our performance. He let out a small purr before reaching out to stroke her cheek. "Mmm-"I purred. "Then, maybe we can continue the fun?"
I leaned down, placing a light kiss on her neck. The places where I had bitten her yesterday were now a shade of swollen red, trailing all the way down to her chest. "After breakfast, of course."
Millie sighed. "Alpha- "she gulped. "I don't think we should do that."
I stopped, shocked at her words. "Why?" I furrowed my brows. "Are you feeling sick?"
Millie looked sad, and I didn't know why. It made my wolf and me crazy that we didn't know the source of her sadness to be able to fix it.
Millie took a deep breath, placing a hand on her belly. She didn't answer me at first but instead reached out to put some food on her plate to eat.
"Last night happened in the heat of the moment," she admitted, sadly forking a few waffles onto her plate. "It should have never happened. It was a mistake."
The joy and happiness that I had felt from last night now washed away, my wolf lying down in my mind like a puppy that just got in trouble.
"You regret it?" I took a blanket, covering myself, before sitting down next to her. "I don't regret it at all. I thought it was spectacular."
"If it's Orion's son," I continued. "Forget about him. He lost you forever when you completed the rejection process."
Millie took a bite of her waffle. "It's not that."
"Then, what?" My stomach twisted nervously. "You can tell me anything, Millie. You will never be punished for anything you tell me. I'm not Orion."
Millie shook her head. She played with the food on her plate, shoving it around. I could tell she was pondering something deeper, but I wasn't sure what.
"Why did you bring me out here?"
Her question shocked me. And, the truth was, I wasn't exactly sure how to answer because I wasn't even sure. To rekindle our relationship? To apologize? To take you away from everyone so I can have you all to myself?
"I- "I sighed in defeat. "I wanted us to talk about things. Away from the others, just you and me."
"Just so you could ask me about my past?" She finally picked up another forkful of food. "Why do you want to know about it so badly?"
"I want to know everything about you," I reached out to stroke her hair. "From your past, your present, and your future."
Millie rolled her eyes slightly. I could tell she was not satisfied with that answer. My wolf pushed me to be honest with her, to tell her everything.
"I don't think that's necessary," she said. "It's not like we are ever going to see each other after the twins are born. I'll be back home, and you'll continue your normal life as a father and an Alpha."
"Millie," I closed my eyes painfully, her words feeling like a dagger to my heart. "I-"
I took a deep breath, carefully forming the words. "I want to have a relationship with you," I started. "I know I've messed up in the past, but I realize my mistakes now- "
"And I will do everything possible to make it up to you." I tried desperately to catch her large brown eyes. "I want us to have a relationship. I don't know what that looks like right now, but over time, we can figure it out."
Millie scoffed softly. "Yeah, okay, Alpha."
Just as I was about to speak again, Millie stood from her chair. "I'm going to take a shower."
"Millie- "I ran my hands down my face. "Come back, can you let me explain? Please?"
My pleas were met with silence as Millie disappeared into the bathroom, with the sound of the shower turning on a minute later.
I huffed, tugging at the ends of my hair in pure frustration. Why couldn't I just tell her? To ease her pain and suffering, to make her believe me, to give her the reassurance she needed.
It was Ember.
The grief.
I shot up from the counter, angrily darting out the door to go take a run. My wolf was so furious at me at this moment, his fur spurting from my arms, eager to fix this situation.
But he couldn't, no one could. Except for me.
The ride home with Millie was eerily silent. I tried to talk to her a few times, to apologize, to explain, but each time, I was met with deaf ears. She just stared out the window, watching as the forest whirled by us.
I knew Boris would be waiting for us at home, anxious about where we went and if we were okay. I couldn't leave my pack for long, even if I wanted to. They still needed their Alpha.
Just like I needed Millie.
The border patrol warriors let us into the gates as we approached, bowing to me in respect. It felt good to be home, back where we belonged, but in a way, I felt like I got everywhere but nowhere at the same time with the girl gazing sadly out the window in my passenger seat.
It was my stupidity that caused it to be this way. That caused us to be so close but yet so far apart.
When we entered the house, my mom came flying down the stairs, a look of deep worry evident in her wrinkles. "Oh, sweetheart!" She embraced Millie in a bone-crushing hug. "We were so worried about you."
"Come on," she grabbed her hand, pulling her up the steps. "Let's get you showered and in some comfortable clothes. And what about some lunch? What would you like? I can make whatever you are craving- "
Mom trailed on as Millie stole a glance at me over her shoulder before she disappeared upstairs.
I sighed as I trudged to my office, laying down our bags on the floor. My wolf protested at our distance, angry that Mom had taken Millie away from us.
I threw myself in my chair in pure hot fury at what I had done. The way I treated Millie, my lack of honesty, and openness.
The Contract.
It was all a mistake. A huge mistake.
