“Davita. Even Daddy liked her. He left her alone because of me. She wasn’t as short as Meggie but she wasn’t much taller. At that time, I couldn’t stand tall sluts. It’s back and forth.” His smile broadened. “Average sized bitches get little notice from me. Anyway, I went on a run and when I got back Celia said she’d gotten word that Davita and my kid died during childbirth.” He turned away. Pressing his lips together, he began straightening papers on his desk. “No time for weak cunts,” he finally spat.
“So you do know what it feels like to lose a woman you care about.”
Scowling, Bash dropped into his desk chair. “I didn’t give a fuck about that slut,” he insisted, back to being a motherfucker. He released an agitated breath. “Almost any cunt is replaceable.”
“If she’d survived—”
“Who’s saying she didn’t, you stupid fuckhead,” Bash snapped. “Yourose from the fucking grave, didn’t you, boy? Who’s to say she’s not alive and just wanted away from me?” He smirked. “Never considered that, huh? Your mama looked like a fucking fairytale princess, so fucking sweet and gorgeous I laughed when Celia said she wanted to fix me up with her.” He pounded his head and growled. “It doesn’t fucking matter. Whether she’s dead or alive, she didn’t want either of us.”
“You’re right,” Easton agreed, not wanting to agitate Bash further. He was fidgeting enough. “It really doesn’t matter. The DeLucas gave me a good life. I couldn’t imagine anyone else raising me.”
“Until you showed up, I always thought Tío was my oldest,” Bash grumbled. “For the record, I didn’t force Ximena either. That bitch actually fucking bit it not long after Tío was born. She OD’d.”
Easton had so many more fucking questions, but they were veering way offtrack. He wanted to save Molly. The fate of Megan Caldwell, the location of all the documents, and information about his birth mother was much more complicated.
“I have a question for you, Easton.”
Eyeing Bash suspiciously, Easton nodded.
“Where the fuck will you say you got Molly from? Out of fucking thin air, dick-for-brains? If you bring her, Christopher will know immediately that you’re a plant.”
He was probably right. Outlaw figured out everything. “We can come up with something.”
Bash glowered at him, but didn’t outright deny the prospect.
“Are you going to meet with Kendall?” Easton asked, changing the subject.
“I’m curious what she wants,” Bash admitted and grinned. “I also want to ask her out on a date.”
Tom Harris chuckled, reminding Easton the motherfucker was still there.
“I’m heading out later tonight,” Bash continued. “Cleaner and Wally, Jr. are riding with me.”
“Youcan always bring Molly in a show of good faith,” Easton suggested. He was afraid to point out that she wasn’t doing anyone any good there; they might kill her. “If you want Megan Caldwell so badly, find a way to get close to her.”
“Tabitha said they’re going to the cabin soon. I’ll get her then.”
“Only to talk to her, right?” Easton asked, hoping the hint of the vulnerable man he’d revealed in the past few minutes came through.
Other than his sister, Bash had had no one to be empathetic toward him. Even Cee Cee Caldwell’s treatment was debatable.
“What you told Johnnie you wanted to do to Meggie was just bullshitting him to see how he’d respond?”
“No. I want her pussy. I want to see what the fuck hasbothmy brothers so fucking hot behind her.”
“I can answer that,” Tom piped in. “She’s fucking gorgeous. I wanted a piece of her ass, too.”
“Kendall’s more gorgeous,” Bash declared, sparing Tom a glance. “After I’m down having fun with Meggie, I intend to dismember her.” He rubbed his chin. “I’m not sure if I’ll keep her hair or donate it to charity. But her head will be mine.”
Nausea rose in Easton’s gut.
Bash intended to make her suffer. Easton couldn’t imagine how she’d endure it. If he didn’t break away from the Scorpions—and survive—he’d end up as soulless as Bash.
“Didn’t you saythey’regoing to the cabin?” Easton pressed. “That means Outlaw, too.”
“I’m taking Cleaner and Wally, Jr. with me. And Tío if that jackass is recovered enough,” Bash announced. “I’m sick of Johnnie, so I intend to keep Outlaw alive so he can watch his cunt die. If he begs enough, I’ll let him live.”
“What about me, Bash?” Tom demanded. “I want pussy from that whore, too.”
