I smiled against his lips. “It’s better to do it now, before I fall back onto old habits.”

He slid his arms around my waist, closing the distance until we were breathing each other’s scents. “We’ll just be more direct with you this time so that you don’t have to guess what we want.”

I kissed him. “Probably the best option.”

We stood there, in the middle of my room, kissing softly for several minutes.

“Do you have a hamper?” Terry asked as we parted.

“Mm-hmm.”

“Let’s start with that. Fill it up with clean clothes and essentials.”

“Ok.”

“Give me that baby,” I demanded as Ryan took a seat next to me at the large round dining table.

Ryan smiled and placed Raphael into my arms.

“What’s the occasion?” Zane asked, glancing around at Xavier, Terry, Crow, and Micah. “I think there are a few more people than we expected at a dinner to celebrate Raphael’s birth.”

I smiled. “So, I know you already all know each other from various visits, plus working with Micah, but…” I took a deep breath. “Ryan, Linden, Lonzo, Brendan, Zane… I’d like you to meet my mates: Micah, Terry, Xavier, and Crow.”

There was a moment of silence, then Ryan scooted close and wrapped his arms around me. “I’m so happy for you.”

“I’m happy too, Bug.”

Brendan turned and studied Micah. “Micah… If I recall, you called in sick for your heat last week, right?”

Micah rubbed the back of his neck. “Ummm, yeah.”

“Let us know when you’ll need to take paternity once your doctor has given you a due date.”

Micah blushed bright pink. “I… uh… I will?”

Zane burst into laughter. “What Brendan means to say is: welcome to the family. All of you. We thought we saw something back during that party but didn’t want to say anything.”

It was my turn to blush. “I might have been a bit oblivious.”

“But he got there eventually,” Xavier laughed, slinging an arm around me from where he was seated on my other side.

A hand landed on my shoulder. “Hey boss, everybody ready to order?”

I glanced up to see Eric standing behind me. “How about you put in an order of breadsticks for us to start, I’ll make sure everybody is ready to order drinks when you get back.”

“You got it.”

“New employee?” Linden asked.

I chuckled. “Eric? He’s been here for at least five months now. Good with everybody, and customers love him. Reliable, and willing to take up an extra shift whenever asked.”

“Sounds like a keeper,” Alonzo said.

I nodded. “I’ll gladly keep him for as long as he wants to stay.”

A cheery, “Hey guys!” sounded from near the host station. I turned to see Eric grinning at a group of alphas carrying board games.
