I sat up. Coffee. Coffee would help me clear the fog. I normally didn’t need it, but between being up half the night then drinking a beer before bed, my body was all sorts of confused.

I pulled on gray sweats and a t-shirt, then trudged upstairs.

I’d no sooner than opened the door when I spotted Micah pacing in the living room.

His gaze snapped to me, and he strode over like a man possessed.

“I need you to fuck me,” he stated a millisecond before his lips crashed against mine.

I was still trying to process the fact that he was kissing me, when he pulled back. I gasped in a breath—and was nearly overwhelmed by his heat scent. It was sweet yet demanding, and my cock sprung to almost painful hardness.

He wrapped his arms around my neck, and started to pull me into another kiss, when I managed to stop him.

“Wh-what about Xavier?”

Annoyance flashed in his pretty green eyes. “He’s coming home. They’re all coming home, but I need you too. I need all of you. I need all of my men.”

A dull pain throbbed behind my eyes, and I wasn’t sure if it was from the blood rushing from my head to my cock, or from the lack of sleep. One thing was clear, however: I probably wasn’t getting my coffee.

I managed to step around Micah and made my way to the chair in the living room. I dropped onto it, but he was only steps behind me, and immediately crawled onto my lap, grinding his hard cock against my stomach as he grabbed my face for another kiss.

“Micah,” I protested gently. “You’re heat-addled. You don’t know what you’re asking.”

He sat back, and my hands immediately circled his waist to steady him.

“Why are you still running?” he demanded. “How many times do we need to invite you up, tell you we want you, before you’ll believe us?”

“Wha…”

Tears shimmered in his eyes. “Why do you deny yourself?” he half-cried, half-shouted. “Don’t you think we’ve all seen how you look at us, the way you have to adjust yourself around us? But you don’t allow yourself to believe we want you back. We ask you to stay, and you make excuses to go downstairs. Xavier told us that he invited you up after you heard us, but you still didn’t come.”

He pounded his delicate fists on my chest. “We may have all started as strangers… as roommates. But that’s not what we are anymore, and you know it! We all love each other, and you. And we know you love us back! You show it in so many tiny things that your feelings couldn’t be more obvious if you screamed them from the rooftop.”

He collapsed against my chest, gulping lungfuls of air and smelling simultaneously horny and frustrated. “We’ve been here, all of us,” he sniffled, “waiting for you to realize that there’s a place for you. We work, as a group. I’ve never felt about anyone the way I feel about the four of you. For the first time in my life, I see familiar faces when I look to the future.”

He hit my chest again. “So why do you have to be so goddamned oblivious?”

“How much clearer do we have to be?” He started sobbing. “Or do you really not want us?”

“We’d like to see more of you,”Terry had said, back in December.

“Don’t be a stranger. You’re part of us,”Xavier had declared after I’d told him I’d heard him and Micah.

“Please don’t disappear on us... Don’t hold it in when you’re hurting. Let us be there for you too,”Crow, just that morning.

How many times had they asked me to stay a bit longer after dinner? How many nights had I retreated to the safety of my basement rather than sit with them for a movie?

Micah was right, they’d been reaching out for months—trying to keep me moving at the same pace as the rest of them.

And I? I’d been an oblivious asshole.

I’d spent so many years trying not to be an imposition on the people who’d lived with me before, that I’d overlooked invitations to be an active person in the lives of the men who meant so much to me.

I wrapped my arms around Micah and held him tight. “I’m so sorry,” I whispered. “I… I didn’t realize…”

He lifted his face. “How could you not?”

I gave him a weak smile. “Who would want me: the alpha who lives alone in a basement and is always cuddling his omega cousin?”
