He nodded. “Yeah. I came to get measurements. I didn’t do that when Anton showed me the place. But since I didn’t know who would be home…”

“Don’t let me stop you,” I replied. “I’m going to head on down, but feel free to come knock on my door if you need anything. The stairs are out the back door.”

“Ok.” He licked his lips, then entered his code for the door.

Deciding that he seemed to want a bit of privacy, I rounded the side of the house instead of walking through, then opened my windows as soon as I was in my room.

Fall—and cooler weather—was approaching, which meant that I only had a few more precious weeks of fresh air.

Micah moved in the week after Crow, but he was so different than the man I’d met at Ryan’s work, that I barely recognized him at first. It was the golden curls that made me connect the dots.

Professional Micah had worn a short-sleeve button-up and black trousers on the day I’d met him, his demeanor politely detached.

Casual Micah sported a pair of bootie shorts and a pink crop top—showing off a lightly muscled middle, bubble-butt, and a star tramp-stamp—on the day he moved in. He was energetic and flirty.

Keeping my cock soft around him was going to be a problem.

I was putting some groceries in the fridge several days later—one of my semi-regular attempts to not have all of my food come from work—when he strolled into the kitchen in a different pair of bootie shorts and an off-the-shoulder yellow top.

“Hey, O,” he chirped. “So you do make it upstairs.”

“Sometimes.” I turned and laughed, noting the eyeliner highlighting his green eyes. “Going somewhere?”

He gave a half-shrug. “I haven’t met a ton of people since moving here. One of the other guys from work asked if I wanted to go clubbing tonight. Figured: ‘Why not?’ Wanna come?”

I shook my head. “Thanks for the invite, but I’ve never been much into the club scene. Besides, I think I outgrew it.”

He snorted. “How young do you think I am?”

I studied him. “Twenty-five?”

He burst into laughter. “Thanks for the compliment. Try thirty-one.”

I looked again, then shook my head. “Damn, could have fooled me.”

“I’m just saying, there’s no way you’re too old. You can’t be more than a year or two above me.”

“Thirty-four.”

“Definitely not too old.”

I chuckled. “Another time maybe.”

“Your loss,” he retorted, putting an extra sway in his step as he walked off.

I blew out a long breath as I watched him go. There would be no way I would be able to keep my cock soft if I had him grinding on me all night.

Best to let him have fun and make friends without me.

Chapter 4

~October~

Iglanced up at a knock on my door. I’d finally gotten used to Ryan not being around several times a week—plus he knew my door code and could let himself in—so the sound was a surprise.

I stood, walked over, and opened the door to see Xavier standing outside.
