“Good,” Matt added. “Because Dimps is right. She’s our boss and she deserves our respect. Look, I’m not happy that she’s changin’ shit up mid-tour either, but my guess is she wouldn’t do it without a legitimate reason. She’s not a stupid woman. She hasn’t got to where she is without brains.”

There was a minor whack noise, followed by the chink of cutlery.

“Jesus, Cori, that nearly hit me in the eye.”

“Consider yourself lucky that it didn’t, Brad. And consider yourself lucky that Em isn’t here. She wouldn’t have missed.”

“You’re right, she wouldn’t have. Fuuuck, I miss her. I want her back.”

“Get a grip. It’s only been a week.”

“Suck me, dickhead.”

Another whack and cutlery noise.

“Damn it, Cori! Stop throwing dinner rolls,” Josh complained.

“Then stop acting like whining babies. You should hear yourselves.”

“Ha! Cori’s on a roll.”

This time I did laugh, because Lucas’s ‘roll pun’ was perfectly flat and perfectly timed.
