Page 30 of Reid's Fixation
Reid turned shocked eyes on her, and then started laughing, “Is that what this is about?”
She glared over at him, her eyes still flashing fire. “Yes.” She said through gritted teeth.
He pulled off the road into a secluded area and turned to her after putting the truck in park and looking at her.
“Babe, the girl I talked to on the phone this morning is Kaylee. I don’t think I mentioned her to you.”
She turned away again; her tone jealous. “No, you sure haven’t. I would remember hearing another woman’s name coming from you.”
He gently turned her face to look at him and she avoided his eyes, “Babe, look at me.”
She shook her head and he leaned in and kissed her, “Look at me. Please.”
She finally looked into his eyes and he smiled, “Kaylee is pretty much my little sister. I went with her to homecoming though and prom. She was crowned homecoming queen.”
Mila growled at him, “Not helping your argument here Reid.”
Reid pulled out his phone, and dialed Kaylee’s facetime and within seconds, Kaylee’s face filled the screen and Mila gave a silent, “Oh.”
He smiled, “Hey there sweetheart. How are you?”
Kaylee smiled, “Reid! Guess what? The shelter got new kittens. I got to hold them! They are so cute!”
He laughed, “Good for you. I know how much you love kittens.”
Kaylee nodded solemnly, “I sure do.”
He grinned, “Kaybug, this is Mila. My soon to be wife. I wanted you to meet her.”
Kaylee’s eyes lit up, “Your soon to be what? Reid!”
Reid laughed again, “My wife. Do you want to meet her?”
Kaylee nodded, “Yes!!!”
Reid turned the phone and pulled Mila close to him and Mila gave a wave at the camera.
Kaylee smiled, “Hi! You are pretty. You have pretty eyes. They look like they are gold.”
Mila blushed a little, “Thank you. I think you are pretty as well.”
Kaylee giggled, “Thank you. You are marrying Reid? Can I come to your wedding?”
Reid laughed, “Of course. You have to be up there with me. You are my Kaylee bug. I need you by my side.”
Kaylee smiled and Mila did too. “I would love to have you up there with us. Reid hasn’t asked me yet though.”
Kaylee let out a shocked gasped, “Reid! You are supposed to ask her first.”
Reid shook his head, “I guess you're right. My bad.”
Kaylee shook her head, putting her hand on her forehead, “Silly boys. You have to ask first.”
Reid coughed, “Right. I will fix it, I promise.”
He gave Kaylee a wink, “Love you Kaybug. I will let you know when the wedding is and you can come then, okay?”
She nodded, “I can’t wait!”
