He grinned, “She is my future wife. Of course, I was going to kiss her.”
His ma grinned at him, “Ye and yer brother are the same. Kian knew when he was seven that he was going to marry Karalee. Just make sure ye and Mila are ready to take such a big step. Don’t rush her, aye?”
“Aye.” His eyelids started to droop, and his ma kissed his cheek, “I will be here to take you to physical therapy in the morning. Get some sleep.”
He nodded and was down for the count.

When he woke the next morning, his dad was there and helped him shower.
It was a slow process and Reid hated having to rely on his dad, but until his shoulder worked, he couldn’t wash his hair and do what he needed to.
After he got dressed, and put his sling back on, he had his dad get out his phone.
He hadn’t talked to Kaylee in a while and missed her happy face.
He knew she was struggling without talking to him and hated that he had been hurt.
She had wanted to come visit, and he made her mom promise to come when he was a little better.
He didn’t want to waste a second with her.
So, pulling up her facetime, he called her.
She answered on the first ring, her sweet face filling his screen.
“Reid! How are you? Are you better yet? Can I come see you?”
He chuckled, “I'm getting there. Just going to the doctor today. Soon Kaybug. I want you to come see where I live now. You will love it here.”
Heather’s face peeked in the frame, “Hey there Reid.”
He grinned, “Hi Heather.”
“You are looking better.”
He nodded, “I'm doing much better. Only been home for a few days and Emery got married yesterday. Which was a long day, but it was beautiful.”
Heather and Kaylee grinned, “Send me pics Reid!” Kaylee called out and Reid nodded, “Will do Kaybug.”
“Let us know when you are up for visitors. Kaylee talks about it every single day. Plus, I don’t think she told you she got a service dog.”
He shook his head, and looked at Kaylee, “You didn’t tell me that scamp. Do you love your dog?”
Kaylee nodded up and down hard, “I love her. Her name is Emily. She is wonderful. She goes with me to the shelter and helps the animals there be calm.”
“That’s great Kaybug. I am so happy for you. I can’t wait to see you and meet Emily.”
His ma knocked on the door and when she saw who he was talking to hurried to the phone, “Kaylee and Heather. How are ye?”
Kaylee giggled, and Heather answered, “We are good Ailith. Kaylee can’t wait to visit Reid. She is counting down the days.”
Ailith grinned, “He has missed her. It’s been hard not talkin’ to her as much as he used to. I have a feelin’ now that he is doin’ better it will change.”
Heather smiled, “True. Will you and Ken be back in Scotland soon?”
Ailith nodded, “Unfortunately. We leave in two days.”
