Page 89 of Paramour of Sin
Refined elegance, I decided. That’s what they embody.
Zane gave my hand a squeeze as we approached, his opposite hand lifting to trail his fingers up Lord Zebulon’s spine. It was a casual, knowing caress that had our lord facing us with a grin. He leaned in to brush his lips against Zane’s mouth, then he grabbed me by the back of my neck and yanked me into his hard body. I jolted as electricity flowed through me, his desire a palpable wave that stole the air from my lungs.
And then he kissed me.
Hard.
Zane moved into my back, pressing my chest even more into Zebulon’s torso.
And then we were flying.
Or portaling, I supposed.
My stomach curled with the power, my mind fracturing beneath Zebulon’s assault on my mouth, and my body melting into the heat of their intimate embrace.
Oh, this is addicting,I marveled, dizzy from the onslaught of their potent scents and warm touch. I lost myself to them, indulging in the heady mixture of masculinity provided by them both.
The clearing of a throat interrupted the blissful embrace, causing Zane to chuckle.
Lord Zebulon released my mouth, but not my neck. His forehead fell to mine for the briefest of moments, then he tilted his head to the side. “Daniel.”
I blinked as my living room revealed itself to me.
Gleason sat in his favorite chair with a cup of coffee in his hand. “Zebulon,” he returned.
My lips twitched at the slight annoyance in his tone. He much preferred to be referred to by his last name over his first name. AndDanielwas his least favorite form of that first name.
Zane kissed my neck. “Coffee?” he asked softly against my ear.
“I can make some,” I replied, taking a step out from between them.
Zane caught my hip to keep me from leaving. “I’ll get it,” he said, guiding me back to Lord Zebulon. “I was asking if you wanted coffee.”
“Oh.” I glanced over my shoulder at him. “You don’t have to make it.”
“I want to,” he replied with a wink. Then he looked over me at the Demonic Lord. “Tea?”
“Please.”
Zane nodded and released me as he went to the kitchen. I frowned after him. “I don’t think we have tea.”
“We do,” Gleason muttered. “We also have a variety of cheeses, meats, and ingredients for homemade pizza all over our counters.”
I bit my lip. “Yeah, dinner didn’t go as planned last night.” Remy must have eaten all the food without cleaning up afterward. Typical.
“I’ll fix it,” Zane called out from the kitchen.
Gleason grunted in response. Then he flicked on a hologram screen in the center of the room. He wasn’t the type to turn on a show or movie, so I assumed he had something else in mind. He typed in a code on his wrist, bringing up a display with an angel wing logo.
“Dark Provenance?” I guessed.
He grunted. “Shane felt we needed a logo. This is his design.” He shuffled through a few more items, then the transparent image went dark, the square like object hovering ominously over the carpeted floor.
“Have a seat,” he said, gesturing to the couch. “I have a few things to show you.”
Confused, I sank into one of the cushions. Was this some sort of meeting?I wondered. One Gleason arranged? It felt a bit strange. Particularly as this was my house, and I suddenly felt more like a visitor than the owner.
Lord Zebulon settled beside me, his thigh brushing mine, as he asked, “Where are Xai and Evangeline?”
