Page 33 of Paramour of Sin
She wasn’t wrong. Human women could sense the bad ones just as well as I could. Most of the time, anyway. Although, some women tended to dance too close to the fire and revel in the flames.
I moved toward the outskirts of the crowd, waiting for TDH to notice me dancing by myself. He would because men always did. Human males—and often females—were drawn to succubi like moths to the flame.
A dozen gazes were already on me, their inherent interests stoking my inner hunger, daring my demon side to rise and take them all.
But I just needed the one.
I lifted my hands into the air, allowing the beat to take me under, and allowed my sensual energy to roam through the club. Such a natural inclination, an invisible strand of lustful power that seduced everyone in my wake.
Including TDH.
He was no longer looking at his current conquest, his eyes glued to my curves, his tongue sneaking out to dampen his lips.
The girl took advantage of the distraction and fled. I sent her a mentalYou’re welcome, but she couldn’t actually hear me. She practically dove headfirst into her gaggle of friends waiting for her, but TDH didn’t notice. No, his gaze was locked on me, marking me as his next victim.
Oh, honey,I mused.Try me.
We locked gazes. I swirled my hips, sliding my hands up my torso, over my breasts, and into my hair. My shirt rose on my belly, giving him a peek at bare skin. The not-so-subtle art of seducing a man with my body and my eyes.
A predatory grin slashed across his face. He slammed his glass down on the bar before stalking toward me. He had the right spirit, and he could fake his bad boy persona with fine detail from the leer on his face to the glint in his eye.
Unfortunately for him, I was the real predator here.
When he reached me, I grabbed his shirt and yanked his body against mine, shimmying my pelvis against his as my fingers trailed lightly over his neck and into his dark hair.
I caught sight of Zane watching from the bar, his eyes narrowed dangerously. Tucking my head into Bad Boy’s neck, I flashed my mentor a feral grin that only made him scowl harder. But as I watched, a human female sidled up to him, and his gaze slipped away from me. He instantly turned on the charm, forgetting I existed.
Wrapping my arms around my date’s neck, I ignored Zane. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to play, too. The club oozed sex, which explained why he’d been hard against me on the dance floor. The place was paradise to an incubus—a veritable buffet of young, lithe, willing human females who’d bend over the bar if it meant Zane would indulge them.
Sometimes, though, this atmosphere felt like a prison to me.
My dance partner grinned down at me triumphantly, his hands sliding over my ass cheeks. His fingers dipped beneath the hem of my skirt and found the bare skin beneath. His eyes flared brighter. He already assumed he’d won.
Yeah, this guy was totally the right type. He’d already gotten frisky without saying a single damn word, not that I’d expected anything less. He was turned-on, too, and a lot less endowed than Zane.
Bless his heart, I thought, a hint of a southern drawl entering my mental voice. I’d been living in Nashville for decades. Only seemed natural at this point.
I whirled in TDH’s arms and pressed my ass against his erection, moving in slow circles—an invitation, of sorts.
Take it a step further,I encouraged.Let me feed.
Then he’d be the bait.
I could go home.
And maybe, just maybe, I wouldn’t be sentenced to an eternity in Hell.
But the momentary feeling of accomplishment vanished when I realized Zane and the blonde had moved on to the dance floor. Not only that, they were mere feet away and he appeared ready to take her right through her tiny skirt. She bent low in front of him, the fabric riding up her thighs as he pumped against her, his hands sliding over her hips, around, under...
I glared at them, my insides going cold.
Five minutes ago, he’d been touchingmelike that.
Don’t lose it now, I warned myself.Just finish this and go home.
I danced back around and curled my fingers into my prey’s hair, tugging his head down so I could reach his ear. “Follow me.”
Bad Boy stilled, and a new grin widened over his face.
