Page 5 of Obeying Mr Kingsley
We stood by the elevator.Close.The heat from our bodies creating an inferno.
I felt more than saw him glance down at me.I lifted my face.
Mason cursed.
Ping.
I darted forward before we both made the wrong decision.
“Don’t be late on Monday.”Mason slid his hands into his pockets and rocked back on his feet.
“I’m an early bird.”I held the doors open with my hand.“Thanks, by the way.”
“For what?”
“Being a gentleman.”
He blew out a breath, tugging one hand out of his pocket and rubbing his forehead.“Honestly, I’m expecting a sainthood. You are...Jesus.Go.Before I stop being one.”
I reluctantly let the doors closed.
Then regretted it immediately.
I hadn’t been late on Monday morning, nor a single time for the two weeks since starting as Mason’s PA.Our sexual tension is off the charts, and while I enjoy taunting him, I need to stop.
The thing is, I’ve said no to one firefighter, two cops, one Wall Street trader and an accountant. Why?Because they weren’t Mason.
Mason...my boss.
And that is a problem.
I need to stay in New York for Emily’s upcoming wedding, and I need this job.If I keep it for long enough, future employment opportunities will focus on Nexus Obsidian references and not my former role in England.
Problem solved.
Well, aside from the fact I was used as a scapegoat...but when you’re in survival mode, you take what wins you can.
So, that’s my plan.
The entire thing.
Meaning, Mason Kingsley is the last man on earth I should desire and be innocently flirting with.
All I need to do is not sleep with him.
