CHAPTER ONE
LEXI
––––––––
“Good morning, Mr.Kingsley,”
“Good morning, Ms.Grant,” Mason replies, glancing away from his screen, his eyes roaming the length of my body.
As it does every morning.
“Will you be wanting your dry cleaning picked up?Perhaps some lunch?”
“No.”His brows dip, confused and frustrated.
Mason never asks me to do any of those things, but I like playing with him.
The chemistry between us is off the charts, and while neither of us plans to act on it, subtly flirting with him has become one of my favorite pastimes.
That and shopping of course.
While I might fantasize about climbing on his desk and offering to clear his schedule, if you know what I mean, I need this job.
God, do I need this job.
Visiting Emily in America was timely, let’s just say that.
I never planned to stay, and so the turn of events which led me to accepting this job was more than fated.I am very lucky.
Plus, I get to work with this handsome billionaire every day and tease him. What’s not to love about that?
“All right, then, do you have any otherservicesyou require from me today, Mr.Kingsley?”
He sighs, turns his body fully toward me and points at the door.“Get out, Lexi.”
I grin, spin and then walk slowly out of his spacious Manhattan office, making sure my ass sways seductively as I go.
“Lexi,” Mason warns in a low growl.
“Yes,” I ask at the doorway, turning and biting my nail.
“Stop.”
God, it’s fun watching him squirm, but I know when he uses that tone, it’s time to push pause.Stop?Absolutely not.
I’m not a quitter.
And he’s far too sexy for me to pretend I don’t want to strip naked and let him have his way with me.
Oh, if only...
“Fine.Your nine o’clock meeting is running ten minutes late, and I’ll have the reports to you by midday as requested.”
“Better.”He nods as his eyes dip to my breasts.
“Seriously?”I cross my arms in a huff.
Talk about double standards.
