Page 76 of Never Stop
“I thought this wasn’t a race?” I asked.
Tonia replied as we dashed into the store. “Loser buys dinner.”
“Oh.” I stopped running in my heels and let the crazy girls go. I wasn’t buying dinner anyway.
Not five minutes later, Bailee was calling for me to follower her back to the car. Uzzi was already waiting for us. Bailee spit out an address. “Step on it. We need to beat them, Uz. We spent a shitload of money tonight and can’t afford to pay for dinner.”
“Oh Lord,” I mumbled.
“Pretend this isThe Amazing Raceand get us there fast,” Bailee continued. “Don’t get lost or break down like taxis do on that show, though.”
Uzzi laughed. “You got it, doll.”
Doll? Doll!
We maneuvered through the streets and occasionally Bailee would turn around and say she didn’t see them behind us. Apparently, Bailee and Tonia had paid first and knew the others were on our heels. Twenty-ish minutes later we pulled in front of a Japanese restaurant. Uzzi gave us each his card, instructing us to call him anytime we needed a ride before we dashed into the restaurant. I was never going to call the guy. My luck, he’d remember who I was and ask how Easton and I were loving our new sex toys.
No thank you!
“We have reservations for six,” Bailee told the hostess. “I hope we’re the first to arrive.”
The hostess smiled. “You are. Right this way.”
Bailee and Tonia both shouted at the same time. “Yes!”
“I need a drink,” I stated.
“Get as many as you want. It’s your night.” Bailee hooked her arm with mine as we continued to follow the hostess to the back of the restaurant.
She led us to a private room with a teppanyaki style table in the middle. It was then I knew I was screwed because the private room would allowmeto open all the black bags and see what the girls from each team bought.
Five minutes later, Nicole, Lucy, and April walked in. “Dammit!” Nicole groaned. “I can’t believe we lost.”
“I think I’ll have filet minion and lobster for dinner,” Bailee declared.
“Paybacks are a bitch.” Nicole glared at my sister, but I knew they were only messing around with each other.
“Don’t be a sore loser.” Bailee stuck her tongue out at Nicole.
“Everyone sit down,” I scolded. “People can order whatever they want. I’ll pay for mine.”
“You will not pay!” Nicole declared.
“Well, shut up about this shit. I need a drink—”
“And to open all your presents.” Lucy smiled. “I’m dying to see your face when you see everything.”
I rolled my eyes. “I can’t wait.”
After placing our dinner and drink orders, Nicole handed me a black plastic bag. “It’s time.”
I took the bag and also took a deep breath.
Slowly I opened the bag, glancing at all the girls. They all had shit-eating grins on their faces. Inside was a package. I started to pull it out slowly. Before it was fully out, I saw the head of a penis the same color as the bag.
“I fucking knew it!” I squealed. Everyone laughed.
Easton was going to flip.
