He threw his arms around both our waists and grinned so wide, his dimples showing."You both came!"

Killian chuckled and bent to his level, ruffling his hair."Of course we came.We wouldn't miss it for the world, champ."

Ryan giggled and grabbed both our hands, his small fingers laced through ours as he practically dragged us forward."Come on!Come meet my teacher.Miss Clara!"

as if she heard her name, a young woman in her early thirties turned toward us with a wide smile and started walking over, her eyes lighting up the moment she saw me.

"Miss Clara," I greeted, smiling back at her warmly.

"Miss Rivers—" she started to say, but Killian gently cut in, his voice calm but proud.

"Wolfe.Mrs.Wolfe," he corrected, his hand resting lightly on the small of my back.The way he said it, so effortlessly confident, made my heart skip.

Miss Clara turned to him then, her smile widening as she looked between us."ah!You must be Ryan's dad."

Ryan practically jumped up and down."Yes!Yes!This is my daddy!I told you he was coming!Daddy, meet Miss Clara, she's the best teacher ever!"

Killian chuckled softly and extended a hand."Killian Wolfe.Nice to meet you.and thank you...really, thank you so much for everything you've done for Ryan."

She shook his hand with a warm nod."It's a pleasure, Mr.Wolfe.Ryan's an absolute joy to have in class.and this whole week, he's been going on and on about today.He was so excited, kept saying how happy he was that both his mom and dad would finally be here for family day."

Killian smiled as he glanced down at Ryan, who was now literally bouncing where he stood.

"And see, Miss Clara?He's here!I told you he was handsome!"Ryan beamed proudly, clinging to Killian's hand like he never wanted to let go."And he really came!For real this time!"

My heart was melting on the spot, as if I couldn't even breathe properly.I had to blink fast to stop the tears from spilling.

Miss Clara laughed softly and reached out to pat Ryan's shoulder."You weren't lying, sweetheart."

Killian ruffled Ryan's curls while giving the teacher a nod of thanks."I'm really glad to be here.It means a lot.Thank you for taking care of my boy."

She nodded, stepping back slightly as she gestured toward the entrance."Well then, let's not keep the event waiting.Shall we?"

We all started walking in, Ryan sandwiched between us, holding our hands like he was the happiest kid in the world, and honestly, in that moment, I think he was.

CHAPTER 98

Liana's POV

The Family Day event was already in full swing when we got into the main hall.There were colorful banners everywhere, tables with snacks and drinks, and an excited buzz in the air as kids ran around in little groups, dragging their parents along.Ryan was bouncing on his feet beside us, practically vibrating with excitement.

The school had set up different fun games, Mom and Kid three-legged races, Dad and Kid balloon-popping relays, and a full Family Obstacle Course that had everyone hyped from the start.

First up was the Dad and Kid balloon-popping race.Ryan grabbed Killian's hand and pulled him to the starting line so fast that Killian almost tripped, laughing as he tried to keep up.I watched them from the sidelines with a huge smile on my face, my heart so full just seeing the two of them like that, like they'd been doing this forever.

When the whistle blew, Killian lifted Ryan onto his back like it was nothing, and Ryan clung on tight, giggling as Killian ran across the line, bouncing with each balloon they stomped.It was chaos, and a lot of the dads were losing their breath halfway, but not Killian.He was focused, determined, and having the time of his life.By the time they hit the finish line, Ryan's laughter was echoing through the hall, and they popped their last balloon just seconds before the next team.

They won.

Ryan screamed so loud I think the whole school heard him."WE WON!MOMMY, WE WON!"

He ran straight to me, breathless and red-cheeked, as Killian followed behind with a proud grin on his face.

"Did you see us?Daddy was like a superhero!"Ryan exclaimed, jumping into my arms.

"I saw, baby!You both did amazing.I'm so proud of you."

Killian bent slightly and kissed my temple."Round one.Complete."
