Killian's POV

I drove like a madman while my phone kept buzzing, I knew who it was, knew what it was, so I ignored it.cz The whole world was probably burning already.

When I got to Logan's Hotel Lodge, I didn't even take a second to breathe.I went straight to the top floor, knocked hard on the door, and before I could even adjust my tie, the door flew open.

Two pairs of eyes glared at me like they wanted to eat me alive, Logan and Steve.and yeah, I expected it, but it still pissed me off.

"Killian, what the fuck is going on with you?"Logan growled the second the door closed behind me.

I didn't say a word.

Steve stepped forward."The company's stock is dropping by the second.Do you even understand what that means?Investors are already pulling out.We're barely holding on here.and that's not even the worst part."

"They want you out," Logan added."Not just from the CEO seat.They want you out from the alpha campaign too."

I clenched my jaw so tight I thought it might crack.

"The council called," Steve said, pacing while glancing back at me."They sounded pissed.Like properly pissed.We told them the news wasn't true just to buy some time so they don't kick you out completely.But Killian...what the hell were you thinking?"

Logan threw his hands up."You divorced Cynthia now?Now?!When everything was finally fucking stabilizing?We told you, didn't we?We begged you to wait.We told you...stay with her until you become alpha King.Then, if you want to toss her aside and run off with Liana or whoever else, no one can question you.You'll be too powerful by then.But now?This is political suicide, Killian."

They were so mad.I couldn't blame them.

But I was boiling too.

"I'll handle it," I said flatly.

Steve scoffed."You'll handle it?With what exactly?With all the investors breathing down our necks and half the world now thinking you're a perverted freak?You divorced Cynthia, and she wasted no time.It's everywhere, Killian.The media ate it up like it was breakfast."

I didn't need reminding.

"You're sleeping with your sister!"Logan shouted."That's what they're all saying.That you fucked your own sister, and now you've got a child together.You really think anyone wants to follow an incestuous alpha King?"

I stepped forward, my voice ice cold."Liana is not my sister.Not by blood.She's my fucking mate!"

"You think the council cares about that?You think the human world gives a shit about werewolf bloodlines and how the moon goddess works?"Steve was red in the face."They don't care about bonds or mates.all they see is a man who fucked his sister and now have a kid together.That's enough to burn you alive in the media."

I was shaking, trying to hold everything in.My fists were clenched so hard my nails dug into my skin.

"What's your plan then?"Logan demanded."What are you going to do, Killian?Because this isn't just about you anymore.This is about all of us.The company.The campaign.The pack.We're hanging by a damn thread."

I reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out the USB.I handed it to Logan.

He looked at me like I'd gone mad."What's this?"

"Leverage," I said."That's what it is.That's how I fix this."
