Story: Mask and the Magnolia (Fiends and Floras Omegaverse #1)
My lips part into a smile instantly, a reflex reaction to the voice speaking those words. I can’t help the rush of heat that touches my cheeks before racing through my entire body when I turn to see Isaak standing at the end of the booth.
“On the contrary,” Evie says with an evil grin. “I think you’re right on time.”
My sweet man frowns, still socially awkward despite how comfortable he’s gotten behind closed doors. “I thought I was supposed to be here at eight?”
I nod as I sit on my hands so I don’t reach for him the way I’m dying to. “You were. Eve just means that we were just talking about you so you had good timing.”
“Ah.” A blush stains his cheeks as Isaak pushes up his glasses, smiling shyly at me before he turns to my friends. “All good things I hope?”
Evie giggles like crazy as Maddox says, “Great things. The best kind of things.”
Isaak’s expression morphs into that of an embarrassed, confused puppy complete with head tilt before he looks at me again.
“I see.” He arches a brow and I shrug. He knows I’ve been talking about him, and I don’t really care that he does.
“Well, I thought, since I was running behind, I could cover the next round?”
“Perfect!” Evie slams the last of her screwdriver and claps then her nose scrunches up in disgust. “Ew, that was mostly watered down spit.”
I laugh as Isaak recoils then start sliding toward him. “Don’t worry, that’s not her drink of choice. I have to pee so I’ll come with you to make sure you get the order right.”
Madds and Evie give us knowing looks but I stick my tongue out at them then follow my omega toward the bar.
“You look very pretty.” Isaak’s hand brushes against mine as we walk, the gesture light but enough to make my belly flip. “I’d go as far as saying you look sexy. Like you were hoping to get picked up tonight.”
Smiling because he’s actually being flirty and not jealous like some might think if they knew about us, I hook my pinky finger with his and give him a little tug.
“I’m off the market, Dr. Lowe. Didn’t you hear?
” His blush deepens as we stop at the barstools and I swear he turns the deepest shade of red when I lean toward him and whisper, “Just hoping to get fucked in the bathroom by a sexy omega in Buddy Holly specs and an argyle sweater vest.”
“What’ll it be?” The bartender asks, startling Isaak since he wasn’t paying attention.
“Uhm.” He clears his throat and tries to discretely adjust his slacks before he pushes his glasses up his nose and looks at me. “We need two of each drink this lovely lady asks for.”
I rattle off our order, adding Isaak’s scotch at the end, then slip away to the bathroom, making sure to pinch his ass as I walk by.
I wish I could call Donovan and just tell him about me and Isaak.
Put it on the books somewhere so I don’t have to hide how I feel about him.
We wouldn’t have to if we had it documented for HR but if that happened, my father would find out.
The Dean would find out, then he’d lose his shit because Isaak isn’t an alpha and unless we want to out our pack and expose the countless rules we’ve broken, he doesn’t hold leverage when it comes to breaking my contract.
Which sounds terrible, like I’m using him for that or something, but it’s the truth.
If I matched with an alpha, whether by scent or fate bond, and it wasn’t seriously immoral and illegal, he’d have to break the contract.
Getting between an alpha and his mate is dangerous, it can be fatal, and even someone like Byron Reynolds would have to let me go because of it.
Unfortunately, without an alpha to connect us, my relationship with Isaak isn’t enough to break the contract and if the Dean knew we have a fate bond, he’d demand to know who the alpha linking us is.
If they weren’t incarcerated and our patients, the same thing would apply; my father would have to break the contract so we could be together.
Going to HR to have our relationship documented would either mean outing all five of us and causing a huge shit storm and scandal, or I’d be accused of cheating on Camden and god only knows what that would mean for me.
As of now, that’s the only thing I’ve found in the contract that could get me out of it.
There isn’t a loophole when it comes to being doomed to a future with Camden, nothing written except for the true match clause.
So for now, I’ll continue milking the loopholes I did find, and praying for a miracle to break the rest of it.
“You are asking to be punished, you know that?”
I gasp as I’m grabbed from behind then dragged just past the bathrooms out of the light before I’m spun around so my back is flat against the wall where I’m mostly covered by shadows.
“What is it with you guys doing that to me all the time,” I hiss as I push at Isaak’s chest. “Of all the things you’ve learned from our boys, this is my least favorite.”
He smiles in my face as he uses his hips to pin me in place, his lean body pressed against mine as he shoves his thigh between my legs and props one hand on the wall above my head. “I’ll let them know you said that when I get home.”
“Yeah, okay,” I say sarcastically seconds before Isaak’s lips ghost over mine. “I’m sure they’ll be proud of themselves.”
”Mhm,” he mumbles as he kisses me, candied pecans flooding my senses, a slight minty taste chasing it as his tongue slips inside and tangles with mine.
I fist the front of his vest as his hips roll, Isaak’s cock already hard as he grinds against me, his free hand slipping under the hem of my sweater in search of my skin.
The fact that he called my outfit sexy is kind of silly but also really adorable. I’m dressed similarly to the way I was when I saw him earlier but Isaak knows I’m not wearing a bra or panties. Des stole my bra and Korvin tore off my panties then kept them.
That’s what my omega finds sexy about the way I’m dressed.
The adorable part is when he uses words like sexy to describe what I think is pretty mundane but one of the other things he’s learned from our boys is how to use his filthy mouth with confidence, which is far less adorable than it is slick inducing.
“When I said I was hoping to get fucked in the bathroom,” I whimper into his mouth as his hand slides up my side and he brushes his fingers along the curve of my breast. “I didn’t mean right this second.”
Isaak smiles as he lifts his head, his gorgeous hazel eyes glassy and his pupils blown wide. “I know. Our drinks are probably ready as well, but I couldn’t move on with our night if I wasn’t able to kiss you first.”
He nips at my lips and I arch my back, my body contradicting everything I just said. “I love you.”
”I love you, too, Maggie.” Isaak kisses me again, grunting as I bear down on his thigh, my hip rubbing against his cock, grinding my pussy against him. “You’re going to leave a wet spot on my slacks.”
“Good,” I moan, tilting my head to the side as my eyes flutter closed, my omega kissing a path down my neck toward Korvin’s mark. “I have to make sure everyone knows you’re mine somehow.”
His chuckle is dark and sensual, vibrating against my skin until heat pools between my thighs.
I swear I can’t get enough of him. Isaak or our beta and alphas.
I think it’s because our time together is so restricted.
It’s something we have to carve out and work for, and making sure our scents are strong, that our marks can be seen, has become crucial because of how often we’re forced to part ways.
And I love them.
My mates have stolen my heart, they’ve burrowed into my soul, and I crave them more with each passing day. I love them more than I knew I could love anything. It was surprising when it happened but now, loving them is as easy as breathing and just as vital.
“I have to stop,” Isaak grunts as sucks hard then nips at the base of my throat. “If I don’t, I’m going to fuck you right here.”
I giggle as I slide my hands up his chest then wrap my arms around his neck, opening my eyes slowly in an attempt to gather my wits but instead I freeze.
There, standing at the back exit maybe twenty feet away, wearing a malicious grin I can see clearly through the crowd around her, is my father’s secretary.
