Page 48 of Loving the Tormentor
She jumps away, gasping in fear. "You're on my left, asshole!" she screams at him. "Speak on my right if you want a fair argument."
He goes red from frustration and pounces on her. Wrapping a hand around her jaw, he twists her head until his mouth is by her right ear.
"Isaid, who fucking takes care of you? Can you hear me now?"
"Let go!" she shouts.
"Answer the fucking question. I can't believe we're having this conversation again. Is your dad alive?"
She fights for a few more seconds before going limp in his hold.
"Yes," she rasps.
"Is that thanks to his useless ass or thanks to me?"
Inhaling through flared nostrils, she hisses, "You."
"Yeah. He costs me a lot of fucking money. Now so do you. And in exchange, I don't even get good pussy. No wonder you're always wondering if I'm cheating, Nyxie. I would too if I was as useless as you."
He lets her go violently, pushing her a few steps back.
"I'm tired. Let's just go to bed," he finally says in a way that will make her believe he's having mercy on her.
And she does believe it. I can see it in the way her shoulders relax when she eyes him walking past her bag to make sure he doesn't take the money back. She thinks that man just did her a favor. But as someone who witnessed a husband abusing his wife for his entire life, the truth smacks me right in the face.
Jealousy and fury flow hot in my veins. I thought I was going to hate her boyfriend because she chooses him over me. Instead, I hate him because he doesn't deserve her. In fact, I'm pretty sure he doesn't even deserve to be alive.
I'm not exactly sure what wakes her up. If it's the dip in the mattress when I sit next to her, if I made a noise while walking the couple of steps from her bedroom door to her bed, or if she's just that attuned to my presence. But when her sleepy eyes blink open, and she sees me, I only have a split second to act. They widen, and her sharp inhale is my chance. I slam my hand on her mouth, pressing the back of her head into her pillow.
"Shh." It’s barely a whisper. "We don't want to wake your boyfriend."
Her eyebrows pinch when I twist enough that she feels my cock against her thigh. If only she knew all the other ways she affects me.
Trembling under my touch, her gaze darts to the side where Chase is fast asleep. She's lying as far as possible from him, so desperately trying to avoid his touch while they're in bed. What a sad relationship.
"I have a question," I say so quietly I wonder if she'll hear me. To make sure she does, I lower myself to the right of her face. "Are you more scared of the things I can do to you, or of him finding out about me?"
She shakes her head, a tiny whimper escaping as the hot breath from her nose tickles the back of my hand.
"Let's see. I'm going to do what I want," I purr, caressing the side of her face with my other hand. I drag it to her throat, thenthe strap of the flimsy tank top she wears to bed, and finally, I caress her nipple through the material.
"And at any point, feel free to scream and kick to wake him up."
Her eyes flutter shut.
"That way, he can save you."
She's so scared of him, I feel her heart kick behind her ribcage. I press my palm on her chest before going back to playing with her breast. I'm so hard, but I don't want to stop touching her to unzip and free my dick. That's how badly I want both of my hands to touch her in this moment.
I press my lips to the corner of her eye, feeling the wetness gathering there.
"That's it, baby. Give it to me. Show me how scared you are."
She twitches, desperate to escape me, yet not wanting to wake Chase up. Even in the dark, with only the moonlight shining on her face, she’s gorgeous at my mercy.
Getting desperate, I smile at her, and I can tell by the glint of terror in her eyes that she recognizes that smile by now. It never announces anything good when I'm happy because it means someone is suffering.
"I'm going to take my hand off now. You decide if you want to scream for help. I can handle your boyfriend's wrath if he wakes up, don't you worry."
