Page 97 of Love's Most Wanted
His stupid ass ruined the whole dynamic of our characters because he could barely wipe his hate for me off of his face long enough to get through each scene. If people didn’t know about me being married to Kabrina, they would still be able to figure out that something wasn’t fucking right just by AJ’s demeanor on screen alone.
“I swear I love your house, even though I don’t know how many bitches have been here,” Kabrina said as we lay in my big ass bed, fresh from the shower.
“Not as many as you think, baby. And especially not in my fucking bed.”
“You had two girlfriends, Unique, no way this bed went untouched.” Her lip curled in disgust as I brought her closer to me, wanting to smell her hair and scent. Somehow, that shit had a calming effect over a nigga.
“Yeah, but they had their own rooms. It was rare we did shit in here. I usually went to their room, did what we did, and that was that. Kind of became an unspoken rule that when I was inmybedroom, it meant I ain’t wanna be bothered.”
“Sucks for you that that rule is no longer, huh?” She threw her leg across me just as a loud thump startled us both. “What the fuck was that?” Her eyes widened.
“Hold on.” I put my finger to my lips to tell her to be quiet.
We both listened intently, but no sound was made again. However, that wasn’t enough for me to go back to what the fuck I was doing, so I threw my feet off the side of the bed, then grabbed my heat from my nightstand drawer. I checked to make sure the shit was loaded before I ascended.
“Wait, what is it?” Kabrina quizzed, watching me in the dark bedroom. I could still see that she was scared as fuck.
“I don’t know, but I know I heard some shit, so I’m ’bout to see.”
The sound had come from above, but since we were on the highest floor, the shit confused me. As I pondered on what the fuck it could be, Kabrina came out into the hallway just above the stairs.
“I’m scared. Let me come,” she stated softly just as I was about to tell her ass to get back in the room.
Unable to turn her down when she sounded like that and looked like that, I waved for her to come closer. “Stay quiet though. Aight, love?” I kissed the top of her head as she nodded.
After gesturing for her to grab onto the back of my shirt, we crept to the room that used to belong to Aurora where I yanked on the string to the attic.
Aside from my baby looking scared as fuck, the only reason I let her ass come was because I felt like it was possibly a possum or rat that had gotten into my attic, and that shit was harmless.
“What are you doing?” she whispered.
“I think it’s a rat or some shit,” I said, and before I finished, Kabrina jumped back from me like Iwasthe fucking rat.
“Told yo’ ass to stay back, but now you here, so get the rope.”
“Rope?”
“They usually about the size of a dog, so…” I couldn’t even finish my lie because Kabrina looked like she was about to have a heart attack, and the shit had me cracking up.
However, my joke ended abruptly when I heard the noise again, making me step onto the chaise and peer up inside. When I saw Aurora seated with her knees up, eyes wide like she was actually a fucking possum or rat, I just stared in dis-fucking-belief.
“Hi,” she spoke softly, half-chewed chips in her mouth.
“What the fuck is you doing in my attic?” I snapped, finally finding some fucking words.
“Who is it?” Kabrina questioned from down below.
“Bring yo’ ass!” I barked, making Aurora jump before she rolled the chips back up and clipped them. “Grab them fucking chips! Fuck you saving ’em for like you coming back!”
She hurriedly did as I said, and once I came from out of the attic, so did she, shocking Kabrina’s ass like she did me earlier.
“Sorry, I?—”
“How fucking long you been up there?” I glared down at her stupid ass.
“Couple days.”
“Oh my gosh.” Kabrina laughed, but it was lacking mirth.
