Page 109 of Love's Most Wanted
As soon as I parked in my driveway and cut the engine off, Kabrina unbuckled herself and climbed over the gearshift to sit in my lap. Before I could ask what she was doing, she embraced me tightly, giving me something I didn’t know I needed as I relaxed in her arms.
“I love you, KK,” I said the shit before my brain could even catch up. My heart had clearly taken over.
She pulled back only slightly, still holding onto my neck as she kissed me gently. “I love you too.”

“What was so important that you would invite us over and not have no fucking food laid out?” Khari asked as my brothers and I, excluding Asif, sat in the den.
I thought of asking Asif to come, but he was busy, and this shit had nothing to do with him, same way Nori didn’t have shit to do with us. I felt like it would be a waste of his time, him being away from his girl, work, and kids to discuss a nigga he didn’t even know.
“Shut up, nigga.” Lequay laughed, not serious at fucking all.
“I need y’allallto shut up.” I cut in since all five of them niggas started on their usual shit talking session.
“What the fuck got Unique serious for once? Yo’ side bitch must be pregnant,” Cemone said, and again, them niggas were laughing.
“Kabrina gon’ leave yo’ stupid ass.” Bashar nodded.
“As she should. Cause?—”
“I saw Devante.” I cut Shakur off, and finally, they got serious. “I went to Kabrina’s family reunion, and he was there acting like he ain’t fucking know me.”
“Don’t tell me yo’ wife is his daughter.” Khari’s lip curled as he sized me up like I was knowingly in a sibling relationship.
“No, nigga! The fuck?” I frowned and watched them all visibly exhale out of relief. “Her aunt’s best friend is his new wife. The one he moved on to. Tell me why that nigga got three fucking kids. One is a girl, which Ma used to say he couldn’t even make.”
“Damn. So what the fuck happened?” Bashar quizzed.
Shaking my head as I stood up to pace, I replied, “After he played dumb like he ain’t know me, I blew up. I lost it. I was planning to ignore his ass, but when I saw he was planning to ignore me too, I couldn’t take it. I pushed the nigga and was about to haul off on his ass, but his daughter was in the way and… I couldn’t.” I sat back down.
“Why you let him see you sweat?” Lequay asked.
“I know. That wasn’t my fucking intention. But when he said nice to meet you, son… I just… all my damn plans went out the window.” I shook my head at myself as Lequay nodded to say he understood.
“We need to expose that muthafucka again since he wanna have amnesia and play house with another bitch.” Khari scooted to the edge of the couch like he was drumming up a master plan.
“Nah, we need to ignore his muthafuckin’ ass like webeendoing.” Lequay disagreed.
“For real. He wanna pretend we don’t exist, that shit is fine with me.” Shakur spoke up.
“We need to take a vote, and whatever the majority votes for is what we do, even if it ain’t what we want individually. Aight?” I suggested, and everyone nodded. Lequay and Shakur as well, even though it took their asses a minute.
“Everybody who wanna expose that ho ass nigga, raise up.” Khari raised his hand, and so did Cemone, Bashar, and myself.
“Well shit.” Shakur shook his head, seeing he and Lequay were in the minority.
“Aight, so we expose that nigga, then what? All he gon’ do is scurry the fuck off and start over.” Lequay shook his head.
“Nah, nigga.” Khari shook his head in return. “Before, we were nobodies, and he could run from the shit. He ain’t gon’ be able to recover from his six sons exposing his ass, four of them being famous.”
Khari made a good point, causing everyone including Lequay to nod in agreement.
“He gon’ be fucked for real and not in the way he like,” Cemone’s stupid ass said, making the room let out subtle laughs.
“Is that what we want though? For him to be desolate and unable to provide for his family?” Shakur questioned the room.
“Man, fuck that nigga!” Khari snapped. “Nigga didn’t give a fuck about none of us when he left. Me, I get it since I was older, but y’all was all minors, and that nigga didn’t give a damn how y’all were being provided for. He knew his son had a heart problem and let the insurance lapse and couldn’t even be man enough to tell our mama. Had it not been for Prime, Shakur could’ve been dead. That ain’t no nigga I wanna protect. Any muthafucka that can cause harm to any of my brothers, and that’s including Sif, got a problem with me.
