Page 42 of Knot The Only Onee
“You knowsheis standing right there?” Lucas extended his hand toward me, his face conveying the depth of his ‘duh’ feelings.
Noah’s words finally sunk in.
How much he wanted me. And here I thought he was mad at me for kissing Lucas, but he was actually…what? Jealous?
“Bridget,” Noah began, pulling me from my musings. “I wasn’t mad at you. Well, not at you. At him,” he side eyes Lucas, “that changes daily. Sometimes hourly.”
“Why would you be mad at Lucas? He didn’t do anything wrong. I asked him to kiss me.”
Noah shook his head, a small smile tilting his lips. “I’m not really mad, Bridget.” He faced me and reached up to cup my cheek. His thumb traced lightly over my cheekbone as I stared up into his bright blue eyes. His fresh pine scent enveloped me, and I wanted to step forward and demand he wrap his arms around me.
“Then what are you?” My question hung in the air, the silence practically pulsing as time ticked by.
“I was more upset that he was the one that got to claim your first kiss,” he admitted, his gaze fixed on my lips. “May I kiss you, Bridget? I’ve been dying to taste your lips. It’s all I can think about. I’m obsessed with you, but I don’t want to scare you away.”
Another crack in the barrier around my heart.
I was laid bare before these men. They had captured me from the moment I met them, and each passing day only made me care for them more.
“Yes, Noah. Please kiss me.”
I’d barely uttered the words before his lips brushed against mine. Tentative, almost shy with his softness. It wasn’t enough. I didn’t want hesitation, I wantedhim.
I rose onto my tiptoes and wrapped my arms around his neck to pull him closer to me.
Our bodies aligned, and I loved the feel of his rock-hard chest against my soft breasts.
While I’d just kissed Lucas, and his kiss was incredible, Noah was about to blow my mind.
A growl rumbled deep in Noah’s chest as his hand settled on my hip, and his kiss turned savage. It was like a switch flipped, and the alpha in him came out to play.
His fingers tangled in my hair, adjusting my head to the angle he desired as his tongue invaded my mouth. I moaned, the sound hungry and desperate as the kiss dragged on, lasting for eternity.
Noah shifted his hips, his hard erection pressing against my belly as I slid a hand down to his chest.
How I longed to feel his bare skin beneath me.
All too soon, Noah’s frantic kisses slowed, and he pulled away just an inch to breathe against my lips. “Fuck, baby girl. You’re so utterly delicious.”
A shy laugh escaped me as my fingers toyed along the skin of his neck. “You’re not so bad yourself, cowboy.”
He pressed his forehead to mine and squeezed me tightly. “I need to pull away, or I’m gonna throw you over my shoulder and carry you up to our bedroom.” His head lifted, and he gazed down into my eyes. “And I don’t think you’re quite ready for that.”
I nodded, knowing that he was right. While I knew Lucas and Noah wanted me, and I wanted them with every fiber of my being; I was still unsure about James.
And I couldn’t do anything further until I knew James’ feelings. No way would I ever do something to risk the triad they had established and worked so well for them. There was such a deep love between the three men that I couldn’t do anything to tarnish that.
“I’m going to head upstairs and take a shower.” My voice was husky as I spoke, still filled with the burning desire pulsing throughout my body.
“Good night, baby girl.” Noah kissed my forehead softly before taking a few steps back.
I was starting to love the forehead kisses.
I retreated from the room before I said or did anything I regretted like asking Noah to make good on his threat to carry me upstairs and make love to me.
Yeah. Best to avoid that at all costs.
