"That will help." Jonathan nodded. "Xavier, can you see what else you can find behind those names? Maybe they'll lead us somewhere else, like when you dug into Aldridge."
"Yep, I'm on it as soon as we return to our room."
"Thanks for answering those questions, Bridget." Jonathan let out a long exhale and forced a tight smile onto his face. "If you remember anything that may help us find them, just let me know."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help." I rose when he did, and I wrapped him up in a quick hug before I could think better of it. I wasn't sure where the insane urge came from. I usually hated touching strangers, but something about Jonathan told me he needed it.
"You remind me of my sister. Celina," he whispered as he squeezed me for a few seconds before releasing me. "I'm so glad we could get to you before Aldridge could hurt you even more."
I sniffled, fighting back the urge to cry. "I'm sorry she wasn't there."
"Me too," he replied, leaving the suite without another word.
Noah wrapped his arms around me from behind. "Love you, sweet girl. Let's get some rest."
I nodded, waving goodbye to Alena and her mates as they returned to their room.
I just wished I could have done more for Jonathan and Celina.
CHAPTER58
Lucas
Ihelped Bridget up the steps into the plane the next day as James and Noah spoke briefly with the driver who dropped us off.
Our omega had been quiet since Jonathan left us last night, and I knew it weighed heavily on her that she couldn't do more to help.
Xavier was tracking down more leads from the names Bridget recognized, but it might take longer than Jonathan would like.
As much as we would have liked to stay in the massive suite in the fancy hotel Elias had set up, we had animals we needed to return to. The boys from Cedar Hills had been caring for them while we were away.
I still didn't know the full history of the feud between the families, but I was thankful it was over, and Mav and his brothers were willing to come over and take care of the horses for us.
Bridget chose a seat by the window where a cluster of four seats, two on each row, faced each other. Perfect. I slid into the aisle seat, and the flight attendant came over and handed us each a mimosa.
"No, thank you," Bridget tried to refuse hers, but I stopped her with a hand on her wrist.
"It's okay. Relax, darlin'. We've got you." She gazed deep into my eyes before nodding and sipping the bubbly drink.
Noah and James joined us a minute later, taking their seats and smiling gently. "Ready to get home?" Noah asked, just a hint of trepidation in his voice.
“God, yes,” she muttered as she leaned back against the plush chair. “I just want to stay in bed for a week.”
I took her hand in mine and twined our fingers before bringing them to my lips for a kiss. “I think we can arrange that.”
Heat brightened her eyes as she nibbled on her bottom lip. “Alena tells me the mile-high club is really where it’s at.”
The air in the cabin grew warm, and I leaned forward to nibble on her ear. “I hate flying, darlin’. But I think I may end up loving it with you. Once we take off, I’m dragging you back there,” I gestured to the bedroom at the back of the jet.
My cock hardened behind my zipper, and I had to shift to get comfortable.
“That’s one way to get you to fly more,” Noah chuckled with a wry smile.
The thoughts of taking Bridget back to the bed in the back and spending the three-hour flight between her thighs got me through takeoff.
When the pilot said we could move, I unbuckled my seatbelt, then Bridget’s, and tossed her over my shoulder.
Her squeals made a lecherous grin appear on my face.
